We weren’t a reflection of our differences this day. We were a testament to the empathy rooted within our humanity, and the value we place on our liberty as a nation. On our right to life, peace, and sovereignty. We weren’t Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative. We were Americans. Americans of all races, religions, backgrounds, and lifestyles standing together. We cried for the lost, prayed for the missing, and honored the brave men and women who answered their call of duty without hesitation. September 11, 2001 broke our hearts, and brought us together. Our bubble was burst and we were reminded that the freedom we take for granted can quickly be taken away. I was only 19, and I will never forget the devastation, or the patriotism that followed. I believe there is so much more good in the hearts of the people in this nation than we realize. Who we are is not the hate that we constantly see rolling non stop on tv. We are human beings. We have the ability to love each other. Remember that.
