Today we celebrate the hope that changed everything.

The resurrection reminds us that even in the darkest moments, light still breaks through. Life still rises. Hope is never lost.

To our first responders…
Thank you for stepping into hard places day after day. Thank you for carrying burdens most people never see.

My prayer for you this Easter is simple:
that you would be reminded you’re not alone, that God sees you, and that His strength is with you in every call, every shift, every moment.

He is risen. And because He lives, there is hope.

On Friday, just before the storm rolled in on Saturday, our Chaplain Care team had the privilege of helping prepare our officers, dispatchers, and first responders. From stocking snacks and warm drinks to making sure small comforts were in place—and hand warmers for the cold ahead—it’s our way of standing with those who serve when conditions are at their toughest.

The storm has passed, but this week is shaping up to be a cold one. This effort was made possible through Covered Chaplaincy and the generous support of Eastlake Community Church, and we’re truly grateful for their partnership in caring for those who care for our community.

Please keep our officers, dispatch, and first responders in your prayers as they continue to serve.

Today we’re lifting up all of our Bedford County law enforcement and first responders in prayer.

To our Sheriff’s Office, Bedford Town Police, to Fire & Rescue and EMS—thank you for standing in the gap for our community, especially in the toughest conditions and the longest days.

We’re grateful for your service, your courage, and the families who support you every day. May God grant you protection and strength as you serve in these harsh conditions.

While many are celebrating at home this Christmas morning, our Command Staff stepped in to cover the morning shift—giving deputies extra time with their loved ones.

Thank you to all who serve our community, today and every day. 🎄🚔 It’s a small token of appreciation to our men and women who serve Bedford County proudly day and night!

And the tradition continues, 6 years running… Leadership means service, and we’re grateful for a team that leads by example.

Congratulations Sheriff Miller on the new appointment. I know you will contribute a great deal to this post!

Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed Bedford County Sheriff Mike Miller to the Criminal Justice Services Board (CJSB), which serves as the policymaking and grant-awarding authority for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. Sheriff Miller joins VSA member sheriffs already serving on....
