Today we honor the life and legacy of Ralph Dieter, who was part of an incredible 133 out of 135 Eagle Scout journeys in our troop. His impact on generations of Scouts is truly something special.

In recognition of his unwavering dedication, we recently named and dedicated our Scout room in his honor. A space that represents the huge role he played in shaping our troop and the lives within it.

As his service is held today, we know many of our Eagle Scouts and troop families will be there to pay their respects. If you’re not able to attend, we invite you to take a moment to remember him and the role he played in your Scouting experience.

Reminder to all that calling hours and funeral services for Ralph Dieter is this coming weekend. Scouts should be in the class A uniforms for the funeral service and arrive at 12:30 to assist.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester from 3pm to 6pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Rd., Bedford at 1pm. Burial with military honors will follow across the street at Bedford Center Cemetery.

Past and present members of Troop 414 are heartbroken by the loss of Ralph Dieter, a true legend in our troop. He was a man who dedicated decades to our Scouts. Always with his camera in hand and his red jacket full of patches, he captured memories and inspired generations.

His guidance, laughter, and presence touched us all. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

From all of us at Troop 414 we wish our families, friends, and our entire community a joyful and peaceful holiday season. 🎄

As Scouts, we strive to live by the Scout Law, to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent, not just in Scouting, but in our everyday lives. This season is a perfect reminder to care for one another, serve where we can, and lead with kindness and gratitude.

Tomorrow is our last day, so come see us and let us take care of your gift wrapping!

Reminder today is the day. Scouts are heading out this morning to collect donations. 🥫

A reminder that Saturday 11/8 Scouts will be collecting donations for Scouting for Food.

PLEASE
⚜️ place items in plastic grocery bags and tie closed
⚜️ place tied bags in a visable location such as the end of your driveway or near a mailbox by 8:30am
⚜️ no glass or pershible items
⚜️ check expiration dates

Scouts will do their best to collect your donations, but if they miss you please bring your items to the food pantry at the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

Thank you to all all who donate and to everyone who is volunteering their time to collect donations. Together we can make a difference.

Congratulations to Eagle Scout Thomas Martineau! 🦅🎶

On August 6, 2025, Thomas attained his Eagle Rank, becoming the 133rd Eagle from Troop 414. For his project, he designed and built six custom shelving units for the Manchester Central High School Music Department, thereby improving organization and accessibility of their sheet music. The project received generous funding from Bedford VFW Post 8401.

As a recent graduate of Central High and longtime trombone player, Thomas aimed to give back to something that had a profound impact on him. Music has always been an essential outlet for him. Currently, he is pursuing degrees in Biomolecular Science & Music at UNH. He continues to nurture his passion for music by participating in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Wind Symphony.

Thomas follows in the footsteps of his uncle and two cousins, becoming the fourth family member to earn Eagle with Troop 414.

It's SANTA!!! This afternoon Scouts helped Santa out by handing out cookies and hot chocolate as families waited for Santa to arrive.
