Happy Thanksgiving from Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District!

Once the holiday celebrations are complete, we will be selling Christmas trees at Station 7 in Chilcoot (94362 Highway 70) from 8am on Friday 28th November 2025.

The Sierra Valley Fire Auxiliary has sold trees for over 50 years and will continue this tradition to help support fire fighting efforts in the Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District.

Trees will be $8 per foot in height. We hope to see you there!

The team were on deployment for 2 weeks assisting with water requirements on a daily basis. The State reimburses the District for all payroll, use of the fire engines, crew meals and fuel. Last week Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District took part in a joint training session with Care Flight and Eastern Plumas Health Care. The aim of this training was to enhance our team's understanding of their operations and what we can do to help when responding to emergencies together. This training was especially beneficial for our newer volunteers to the department. Thank you to Care Flight and Eastern Plumas Health Care for taking the time to provide this valuable training. On Saturday morning June 28 at 3:21am, Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District Firefighters were dispatched to a possible wildland fire in the area of East Quincy Ave. behind the 7-11 store/gas station.

Firefighters arrived to find two separate fires in the vegetation near homes. Fortunately firefighters were able to quickly stop both fires from threatening lives and causing property damage.

PCSO deputies also arrived quickly to assist firefighters, in the event evacuations were needed and searched the area for whoever was responsible for starting the fires.

This incident was another example of the dedication and commitment Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District firefighters have to respond at all hours of the day and night to protect their community.

If the public has any information regarding who may be responsible for these fires, please contact the Plumas County Sheriff's Office at 530-283-6375.
