I am sorry for the delay on updating you guys. The last few days have been a pain in the f***y. After battling with Abby about how they were going to bill me, that delayed Lily's surgery one day. Then she was scheduled for yesterday morning. .....Then they moved it to late afternoon. Bottom line is she had her surgery and is in great spirts. I also have been told she is eating well and adapting to 3 legs. As soon as I sit down long enough, I will personally thank each and every one of you who donated. Your funds are SO appreciated. Tomorrow Lily is being picked up and transported here. I am excited to meet her. Again - THANK YOU ALL! đŸ„°đŸ„°

Hello Everyone

The last few days have been personally a roller coaster ride of emotions. On Thursday, I received a call from a Veterinarian’s office in Plymouth, Ca. They had a dog come in that had been hit by a car and the leg had to be amputated. The owner of this dog could not afford the surgery and elected to have the dog put to sleep. The vet’s office asked if I would be willing to take the dog and I said “yes.” The dog's name is Lily. She is only a year and half old, sweet as pie and is a fantastic LGD. I won’t go into details but I was aware of the situation with Lily long before I received this phone call. I knew where Lily lived and who she belonged to.

This is where things get emotional for me. On Friday, the vet's office called me to say the vet will NOT put Lily to sleep, he believes she is worth saving. I was so happy.
A few hours later, I heard through the grapevine that someone on the property released Lily to a local rescue in that area. Again, I said to myself, okay good at least she is alive and will get the care she needs. Uh not so fast
..I got another call from the vet’s office saying a person on the property signed a waiver for animal control to come and pick up Lily and have her put to sleep. As we all are aware shelters have no problem with putting dogs to sleep.

The vet’s office gave me two backdoor numbers to the shelter. I called them immediately. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of the director. He said unless rescue could be secured by the end of the day Lily would be put to sleep. I was 4 hours north of the Shelter and it was 2:30 on a Friday. He also informed me that Lily had been living with a broken leg for almost a month. He said she didn't look good and wasn’t eating or drinking. Ouch, I was under the impression this just happened. So I called (crying) to a friend who was also aware of this situation and asked for help. I updated her of the situation. Bless her she dropped everything, rearranged her schedule and said she would drive up on Saturday and pick up Lily from the shelter. Thankfully the shelter agreed to hold Lily until Saturday.

On Saturday, a vet from Abby fitted Lily with a device called a Robert Jones Bandage. It stabilizes the leg and relieves some of the pain by offering the leg some support. I have attached a video.

You guys know I don’t ask very often for help. This is where I need some help. Had I not just spent close to $5.000 getting 8 dogs spayed and neutered in the last 3 weeks this wouldn’t be an issue. The person who picked up Lily works at the Abby Veterinary Hospital. She has pulled lots of strings and was able to get the operation severely discounted. The vets office in Plymouth said it would be around $3,000. My friend or perhaps she is Lily's angel, was able to get the performing vets to donate their time and we only have to pay the cost of supplies. Lily’s surgery is still going to cost close to $1,000.00.

Her surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday.

Well for my personal established dogs this is how I balance them out. Tonight I took Rio (for those who used to know him as Rambo) to a 5 star restaurant. We sat outside with friends, had a wonderful dinner, listened to music and watched the sunset. Did I ruin him? Hell no. He was an extremely well behaved boy. He let everyone come up and pet him, he listened to everyone share their Great Pyrenees stories. Gladly gave his Pyr paw đŸŸ and ignored the other tables yappy dog..
I’m sure I enjoyed the evening more than he did. (He probably didn’t appreciate the bath and brush job before we left). When we get home he will take his clean freshly bathed body out to care for the farm animals for the night. He won’t want to come in the house, he won’t chase down my car every time I leave the house. He knows his responsibility to this property. He won’t miss a beat going forward. So yes they can “do their job” enjoy a night off and still be great LGD’s.

I’m sure you all remember Dozer. Well I have his full brother from a different litter. He was surrendered to me from the gentleman who bred him. Both parents are now fixed and there will not be anymore of these ever available- good for the adult dogs but bittersweet for me because they are amazing dogs and great to work with). He is extremely sweet and mellow. He has been living with my livestock since he got here. He is 5 months old.

He is Great Pyrenees and Mastiff attached is his DNA

Well Well Well

I asked and you all delivered! Thank you!

My daughter and I delivered G to his new home. The gentleman is an older lifetime cattle rancher. He shared with us some of the heart ache he has endured in the last few years which was just heart wrenching. He needed this dog more than ever. G immediately was drawn to him and told the gentleman “don’t worry I’m here for you now”. Which made all three of us cry because we read the body language and emotion G displayed.

G is going to have an amazing life. The gentleman owns multiple cattle ranches. This summer they are going to spend it on his 5000 acre ranch which is only an hour and half away from my house. G will be able to safely run free. He has a pond, (G loves water), and an endless supply of beef bones. G will sleep in the house and ride inside the truck not in the back!

I’m not going to lie, I have rehomed LOTS and LOTS of dogs but this one made me cry, still does even as I write this post. They are happy tears. To think had I not stepped up and visited this dog in the shelter he would have been put down.

I would have loved to have kept G. But in rescue the reason we rehome dogs is because someone is going to give them something we can’t. Individual love and attention. G deserved that. He deserved better than what I would give him.

So now G is living his best life. We are going to go and visit later this summer. ❀

Hello Everybody

I need your help. Please share this where ever you can. I already posted on a few CAS pages so double check to see if my post is there before you share it there, we don’t want to make multiple duplicate posts to their pages.

There was a Central asian shepherd at the shelter. They would not allow anyone to adopt him, only rescue could pull him. I have him here at my facility in Beckwourth, Ca. An hour north of Truckee.

His name was Goliath. I now just call him “G” because frankly he is a G.

Now that I have had a chance to get to know him here are his facts.

He is estimated 3 years old
Neutered
UTD on vaccines
Don’t laugh but kinda scared of my cat
He is fine with female dogs and I tested him on a few of my low energy neutered dogs and he could care less.
He is a big boy at 145 lbs
I’m told he can jump fences. So secure fencing is a must.
No food aggression
He loves to roll over and have his belly rubbed.
He loves when you hug him and tell him how beautiful he is.
I’m sure you would see a different side of him if somebody came onto your property in the middle of the night.

He needs a family. I’m asking for your help to find him one. He is so unbelievably sweet and lovable. I don’t mind if he goes to a home that has a farm, but I don’t think he would be happy in a pasture with livestock. He is a bit of a ham and loves people attention. The new family must have experience with this breed or like breeds.

Please share this with anyone you know that is looking for a dog like this. I have a transporter I use and trust.

Thank You

Hello everybody. Sorry things have been crazy busy around here. Between spring, lots of babies being born (on top of everything else we are a working ranch) and life in general there isn’t enough time In the day.
About a week ago we welcomed our newest bunch of Akbash/Great Pyrenees puppies all the way from once again
 Texas!
These puppies and multiple adult dogs are living with goats and chickens. Which makes my job SO much easier.
We are working on getting some of the adult parents out here. They range from age 1-4 years old.
A huge shout out to the two rescues in Texas, once again who made all of this possible. Bluebonnet Animal Rescue and Texas All Creatures Rescue. If it weren’t for them picking up the puppies, allowing me to use their fosters and then they drove the puppies to Oklahoma to meet the hauler none of this would have happened.
