Two members of the Beckley club filed to run for city offices today. Danielle Stewart has entered the Mayoral race, and Kelly Elkins is running for a City Council seat in Ward 4.We are proud of these two candidates and wish them the best of luck in their campaigns.

The Woman's Club congratulates our new slate of officers elected at our December meeting: President: Cindy Worley; President-Elect: Amanda Bodkin; 1st VP: Kelly Elkins; 2nd VP: Danielle Stewart; Secretary: Sandy Stewart; Treasurer: Marcia Fairlie; Financial Secretary: Betty McClung; Corresponding Secretary: Gabrielle Debold; Historian: Jess Ward.
We are indebted to those officers going off of the BOD, including Linda Conte, Donna Bobbs, Bonita Goode, and Lena Conte for their wisdom and years of service.

The Woman's Club was happy to induct four new members into our club at our December meeting. Our latest members are Sandra Stewart, Gabrielle DeBold, Jess Ward, and Missy Morrison (not pictured). They are pictured with 2nd Vice President and Membership Director Kelly Elkins and President Linda Conte. Welcome ladies. We are so happy to have you among our numbers!!

Don't forget! Our December meeting is tonight (December 9) at 5:30. We will elect officers, install new members, and enjoy a potluck dinner! See you there!

The clubhouse will be open Saturday morning from 9 - 11 while the Christmas parade is lining up outside our doors to allow participants to come in and sit down, relax, use the restroom. We will sell hot chocolate and coffee. Linda could use some help, so anyone who could assist is welcome! Might give you some extra points with Santa!

Ladies, don't forget! Our November meeting is this Tuesday, November 12. We will review the slate of officer nominations and install new members who have joined our ranks since this past spring. Dinner is potluck, so bring something we can all dig into during this important meeting. See you Tuesday!

Maleficent made another appearance on behalf of the Beckley Woman's Club, passing out candy to hundreds of children at Tailgate Halloween. She had a wickedly good time!!

We were happy to welcome Madeline Sarrett as the special guest at our most recent meeting. The Woman's Club provided Madeline with a scholarship to attend Rhododendron Girl's State this past summer, and it was money well spent, as this beautiful and well-spoken young lady described her experience in glowing terms. Thank you, Madeline for attending our meeting, and being such a wonderful representative of Woodrow Wilson High School!
