From classroom lessons to cold-water streams โ these students got to experience conservation in action! ๐๐
Students from Shady Spring Middle and Coal City Elementary recently released the rainbow trout they helped raise through the Trout in the Classroom project into the Piney Creek Watershed and its tributaries.
This hands-on experience gave students the opportunity to learn about aquatic ecosystems, water quality, conservation, and the importance of protecting our natural resources right here in southern West Virginia. Watching these students connect science with the outdoors made this project truly special.
Programs like Trout in the Classroom help inspire the next generation of environmental stewards by showing kids that they can play a real role in protecting the waters and wildlife around them. ๐
