Kiwanis Club of Beckley, WV The Kiwanis Club of Beckley is a part of Kiwanis International. We support Key Clubs at Independence, Liberty, Shady Spring and Woodrow Wilson high schools

Kiwanis International is dedicated to serving the children of the world. Kiwanis was founded in 1915 by a group of businessmen. Now, over 102 years later, Kiwanis has expanded to over 8,309 clubs, with over 600,000 members, sponsoring over 150,000 service projects annually. Here closer to home, the Kiwanis Club of Beckley has been in existence since the mid-1920's. Our mission is to serve the chil

dren in Raleigh County and the surrounding areas. Through-out the year, we participate in many service projects in the hopes of brightening a child's life. Just a few of our projects include: KickItAgain (collection and distribution of new and/or gently used soccer equipment); K-Family Christmas (our partnership with DHHR to treat 20 children between the ages of 12 and 17 to a morning of Christmas shopping); toy chest at Raleigh General Hospital (a selection of toys, books, puzzles and more for children in the hospital or waiting for a family member of sibling that is in the hospital), sponsorship of the Key Clubs at the 4 area High Schools; as well as many others, including our most popular, The Mike Hunt and Phil McDaniel Memorial Pancake Day, which is held every September.
