Join us this Saturday for our 4-H Community Service Day! Event is at the Washington Street Conference Center (102 SW Washington St, Hillsboro).

Agenda:
1-5 pm; craft activities, bake sale, gear swap, and dog treat fundraiser
5-6 pm; pizza dinner
6-8 pm; family friendly dinner

Even if you have an hour, come join us in making crafts for local non-profits. Items made will be donated to first responders, a local senior living center, Oregon Humane Society, and a local foster care organization.

Don't forget to bring cash, unopened canned and boxed foods, and any 4-H apparel or barn clothes you have outgrown.

The Washington County 4-H Ambassadors will have bake sale fundraiser and the 4-H Canine Clovers fundraiser have homemade dog treats you can buy to support the Oregon Dog Rescue. Food will be donated to a local food pantry. Our 4-Her, Hannah, is hosting their Gear Swap to make equipment and clothes accessible to other 4-H youth.

Cold day in the barn didn’t stop these 4-H kids! Horse Judging and Hippology was a huge success because of the help of all the 4-H volunteers and parents helping out. 48 kids (including kids from Benton and Linn County) got to judge horse showmanship and conformation classes (Clydesdales were my favorite!) as well as participate in Hippology and impromptu speeches.

No School Day Art Camp was a success! 10 kids joined this free two day camp to make tin and felt ornaments, garlands, and air dry clay magnets. Everybody got to try embroidery and crocheting! A lot of creativity and fun was had!

OSU Extension is hosting a fair listening for all 4-H youth, families, and volunteers on Wednesday, September 10th from 6-8 pm. The purpose of this listening session is to provide a platform to share what worked well and what needs improvement in the 4-H program at the Washington County Fair. Your input will help inform 2026 Fair planning.

Registration is required to participate. https://beav.es/Listening

You can choose to either attend and speak, attend and observe, or submit written remarks. 4-H members are also welcome to attend and participate.
