SDRI will be canceling the meetings for the Parents and Family Support Group in November and December 2023 due to the busy holiday season.

We will be starting again in January 2024 on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the SDRI office.

Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

December 7th: Holiday Arts and Crafts
*Please note: we will be meeting on December 7th instead of the 14th due to the Winter Dance (more info to come).

January 11th: Bird Feeders - Please make sure to RSVP for this event. Space is limited. We will have kits for 30 people.

There is currently an Oregon DHS data center outage impacting multiple systems, including eXPRS. They're aware of the issue and working to get things back online, but don't have a current ETA on a fix.

PSWs unable to log in to eXPRS/EVV to start/end shifts may need to log in to the web site later and edit their in/out times manually prior to submitting their time for payment.

SDRI will make all reasonable efforts to process/approve timesheets before our own approval/submission deadline.

Be Part of an Important Study!

Researchers from American Institutes for Research (AIR) are conducting a study to look at ways to improve care by understanding the needs of people receiving HCBS (Home- and Community-Based Services).

This study will try to answer questions like:

-- “How did you hear about HCBS services?”
-- “What was your experience like applying to receive HCBS?”
-- “What do you think about your caregiver?”

AIR would like to interview people receiving services about their experiences with HCBS and will include questions about equity issues related to location and race/ethnicity.

The interview would take about an hour and can be done over the phone or by video, whatever is preferred. All answers are completely private and won’t affect any services or care received.

As a thank you, AIR is offering a $75 gift card for participating in an interview.

SDRI has recently gotten word of another COVID-19 vaccination event coming up (Sunday, January 24th), through OHSU, for Phase 1a eligible individuals (Individuals with I/DD, their caregivers [paid/unpaid], PSWs, DSPs, parents). Requires registration. We assume slots will fill up quickly.

OHSU in taking part in three mass-vaccination sites for COVID-19, each able to vaccinate thousands of people a day. For now, appointments are by invitation only
