His grace that helps us in our time of need.

As the seasons of our lives change, what we need is the grace and intercession of our great High Priest, who continues to care for us through every season. Because continually bringing our weaknesses, rather than our strengths, before Christ is itself a step toward rest. It is a step toward faithfulness."

"Hebrews tells us that long ago God spoke in a lot of different ways, God gave us a lot of puzzle pieces. But in these last days, God has spoken to us through a Son– the perfect image of who God is. Jesus is the big picture, the cover of the puzzle box.

Just as a puzzle needs every piece, we can’t just toss out the stories that trouble us. But we also can’t assume that the whole puzzle is wrong when a piece doesn’t seem to fit."

"Perhaps you are still in the middle of a battle and cannot look back like David. Perhaps you still do not understand what is happening. Perhaps you are praying and the answer has yet to come. So I am not asking you to understand everything. I am inviting you to trust in the Rock. Because the God David recognized as his Rock after the battle was, already his Rock during the battle. And that same God is our Rock today."

"Our best days are not in achieving something we consider great, but when God gave us deliverance in spite of our failures. And our best memories are not of our strength and power but about the provision of our powerful God. Our experiences of all of life, both victories and struggles, are expressions of God’s ultimate sovereign control and also his faithful care for us.

And our response to His faithfulness, like David’s, is to proclaim His goodness through praise and worship before a watching world, even while calling out to God in the midst of the storm. "

Mephibosheth’s story reminds us that loyalty isn’t always about being seen or understood. Sometimes faithfulness means trusting God with our reputation, our circumstances, and the truth.

In a world quick to judge, may we be people who choose humility, trust, and grace.

"Just like that, David’s efforts toward peace and reconciliation seem to unravel. The beautiful vision we see in chapter 19 seems to fall apart again in chapter 20.

Isn’t that painfully realistic? How often does that happen in our own lives? We try to do what is right. We choose love. We forgive. We reach out. We try to reconcile. We try to build something beautiful. And yet, sometimes, despite our best efforts, things still fall apart. Sometimes even our most sincere and faithful efforts seem to lead nowhere."
