Hey friends, it’s been on my heart to say a little something to you. As we all know, this time is chaotic, scary, hard and uncertain. Not only is there chaos in the world but there’s stress in our personal lives as well. Before this pandemic, many of you were signed up and preparing to compete in a local competition. As we all know, it takes sacrifice, dedication, grit, money and time to win a title.
With that being said, I just want to acknowledge you. To see you. To celebrate you. To validate you. To be with you in this.
You’ve had a dream on your heart and a goal in your mind. You’ve done everything you can to execute what you’ve prepared and now, you’re not even sure if and when you will get a chance to make that happen. And I’m so so sorry about that.
I just want to remind y’all that you can be aware, see the big picture, have consideration and compassion for the world all the while process what’s happening in your own life as well— whether it’s postponing a wedding, not getting a proper graduation, being laid off or not getting to compete in a pageant. Being disappointed or sad about pushing off or losing an opportunity does not mean you are insensitive, superficial or selfish. You’re a human who has plans and goals that like, everyone else, has been effected greatly.
Lastly, I want to encourage you to press on. If we went back to our regular lives tomorrow, would you still be ready to walk on that stage? Please don’t stop working for a dream just because of our current circumstances. Keep practicing, continue walking, rehearsing, learning, growing. Keep going. You can take this day by day all the while preparing for your future.
You WILL get to speak with those judges, you will get to perform your talent, you will get to dominate that on stage question, you will get to shine on that stage.
But for now— allow yourselves to feel, process, and then press on.
The current titleholders are with you, we get you, we’re here for you and so proud of you sis ✨
