What if the bottles and cans in your recycling bin could help a child sleep indoors tonight? This Family Promise Week, they can!

Oregon’s Bottle Bill pays **10¢ per redeemable container.** Collect 1,000 bottles or cans, and you’ve raised $100 without asking anyone for a dollar! Every refund donated to Family Promise of Greater Washington County (FPGWC) helps fund shelter nights, case management, and support services that help families move from crisis to safe, stable housing.

No homeless children. No empty beds. No exceptions.

That is the promise. This Family Promise Week (October 12–16), we’re asking you to help keep it every month, all year long.

A promise is only as strong as the people who keep it. Some of our most powerful supporters make small monthly gifts that, over time, become something families can count on.

Promise Protectors are FPGWC’s monthly giving community. Your gifts help keep beds open and ready, so families with children facing homelessness have a safe place to land.

💛 Your monthly gift makes a difference:

✨ $25/month helps support case management, shelter operations, and prevention programming.

✨ $50/month helps provide transportation, basic needs, and emergency shelter.

✨ $100/month helps provide a week of shelter, meals, and wraparound support.

It's officially FAMILY PROMISE WEEK! We know that somewhere tonight in Washington County, a little boy is curled up in the backseat of a car, clutching his favorite action figure. His mother will wrap him in her coat and whisper “Goodnight, buddy,” as headlights sweep across the dash. While we know this is a daily reality for far too many families, we REFUSE to accept it as inevitable.

🏠 We’re Looking for Home Team Captains!

You already have a team. You just need to rally them. 💜

Family Promise Week is October 12–16, and we’re inviting people across our community to become Home Team Captains and rally the people they already know to support families with minor children experiencing homelessness in Washington County.

Your team can be anyone in your circle:

👨‍👩‍👧 Family
🏡 Neighbors
💜 Friends
💼 Coworkers
📚 Classmates
🤝 Fellow congregants or community group members

🎯 Your goal: $350

That’s your fundraising goal for Family Promise Week, and you can reach it by simply inviting the people already in your corner to join you in supporting local families.

And because fundraising should be fun, there are incentives along the way! 🎉 Different fundraising levels unlock different Family Promise goodies and prizes, including things like merchandise, pens, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets, and more.

The more you raise, the more opportunities you have to earn!

🥫 Bottles for Beds: Fill a Bag. Fund a Bed. 💜

What if your empty cans and bottles could help a local family move toward a safe, stable place to call home?

During Family Promise Week, October 12–16, we’re turning Oregon’s Bottle Bill into an opportunity to support families with minor children experiencing homelessness in Washington County.

Oregon’s Bottle Bill pays 10¢ for every redeemable container.

That means:

🥫 100 bottles = $10
🥫 500 bottles = $50
🥫 1,000 bottles = $100

No asking anyone for a dollar. Just collect what you already have. 💜

Here are two ways to participate:

1️⃣ Rally your organization, group, school, congregation, coworkers, or community to collect together.

We’ll provide unique BottleDrop Blue Bags for your group to fill. Once your bags are full, you can return them to a BottleDrop location or arrange for FPGWC to pick them up during the week of October 12–16.

2️⃣ Already have a BottleDrop Green Bag account?

You can donate directly through BottleDrop Give! Log in, select Give, find Family Promise of Greater Washington County, and donate any amount from your balance.

🛏️ Fill a bag. Fund a bed. Keep a promise.

Every can collected helps us work toward a community where no child has to wonder where they will sleep tonight.
