Not every church is willing to step into the hard, holy work of sexual brokenness and betrayal recovery — but Meadow Springs Community Church in Portland is one that does.

They open their doors week after week to host Pure Life Alliance support groups. And this year, they're taking it even further by hosting our Regional Training events for Set Free leaders — equipping the men who walk alongside others on this journey.

This weekend we moved our clocks forward—trading an hour of sleep for longer, brighter evenings. It's a small shift that fills our days with more light.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)." — Ephesians 5:8-9 (NIV)

Maybe you're reading this and you're still in the "once darkness" part of this verse.

One of the most damaging myths in Christian spaces is that forgiveness and trust happen at the same time.

They don’t.

You can forgive and still require consistency.
You can forgive and still have boundaries.
You can forgive and still need time.
You can forgive and NOT trust.

Because forgiveness is for you--it frees your heart from bitterness.
It is a necessary part of the healing process...when you're ready.

Trust cannot be forced.
Trust grows.
It is rebuilt through consistent changed behavior over time.
