Robot in 30h day 3: We brought together our prototype and began testing our new shooting based programming. We have the ability to shoot pollen out of the bottom of our robot as well as shooting nectar out of the top. Going forwards we will improve our scoring capabilities in shooting. Furthermore we will also improve sorting the game elements.

Robot in 30h day 2:

Yesterday, we continued our development progress by installing our prototype designs on to our drivebase. We additionally began programming to get the drivebase and the mechanisms working. By lunch, we had completed all the essential requirements that we outlined on Saturday. We continued developing the Pollen launcher as well as developing a Pollen and Nectar sorting transfer and a Nectar launcher. Our next goals are a placer for putting Nectar in flowers and basic driver assist functions like aiming. Stay tuned tomorrow for our day 3 update and summary of Ri30h.

Special Newsletter: Kickoff, Ri30h Day 1:

Yesterday was kickoff for the 2026-2027 FIRST Tech Challenge season BIOBUZZ! We jumped straight in to the season for six hours out of our thirty hour build. At the end of Saturday, we had successfully prototyped launcher, intake, and a flower intake design. Sunday, we are working on attaching all of these to our robot and beginning the programming process.

Thank you to everyone who came to our kickoff event, and to Newark City Schools for providing the space for our kickoff.

Newsletter #33: Kickoff this week!

We are almost at the start of our season! Just like last year, we will start our Robot in Three Days project on the day of the game reveal. During the challenge, our team members set goals, design, prototype, and build a robot from the ground up over the course of three days. Last year, our Ri3D robot served as an amazing jumpstart to our season, allowing us to have a core robot concept to develop throughout the season. We can't wait to get started on this season! Pictured is last season's Robot in Three Days build.
