BCET has 3 core programs that aim to help with educational outcomes in Beaver County. The first is "Growing with Books" and provides free age-appropriate books to the county's newborns and toddlers to encourage parents to read to and with their children. The second is "Great Idea Mini-grants" which provides direct funding to teachers to implement creative and innovative ideas. The last core progra

m is really broken into two with "Story-walks" and "STEAM-Walks", which are opportunities for our school districts to bring the learning directly to the public. These themed events allow our communities to explore literary topics along with the hard skills necessary to succeed in life.

β˜€οΈ School's out, but the reading doesn't have to stop!

Summer is one of the most important times to keep kids connected to books. Research shows that students who read over the summer arrive in the fall stronger, more confident, and ready to learn.

Whether it's a trip to your local library, a book from our Growing with Books program, or a Story Walk adventure, every page counts!

What's your favorite summer reading program? Drop it in the comments! πŸ‘‡πŸ“–

Last month, families gathered for a Fairy Tale Story Walk at Beaver's College Square Elementary School that was simply magic!✨

Story Walks are one of our favorite ways to bring literacy to life. A huge thank you to the educators and families who made this event so memorable. This is exactly what community-powered education looks like in Beaver County. πŸ’›

Last night was a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together for education. πŸŽ“πŸ’›

From the celebration and stories to the moments of connection in the room, we gathered to honor incredible education leaders, cheer for their impact, and remind ourselves why this work matters.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make the night possible. ✨

Give a teacher a grant, and just watch what happens. πŸ’›πŸŽ

A simple idea can turn into a hands-on project, a literacy night, a creative classroom experience, or a moment a student remembers long after the school year ends.

That’s why BCET is proud to support educators through grants that help bring great ideas to life. Closing out Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the incredible impact teachers make every day and the power of giving them the support to dream even bigger.

Because when you invest in a teacher, you invest in every student they inspire. ✨

BCET was proud to be part of the Grand Opening of the permanent StoryWalk at Brady's Run Health and Walking Trail this morning.

The inaugural featured story was "George Washington in Logstown," a true local treasure written by two talented Baden Academy students. And the best part? Those young authors were there today, in the cold, watching their words come to life along the trail for the very first time. ✨

Thank you to the Beaver County Library System, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County, the Beaver County Historical Research & Landmarks Foundation, and every collaborator who made this permanent outdoor reading experience a reality. And thank you to everyone who braved the cold! This StoryWalk will be warming hearts long after the weather catches up. πŸ“š
