BCCTC wants to thank Conway VFD for the generous donations to our new Protective Services Program! They donated Turnout Coats, Turnout Pants, Firefighting Helmets, Boots, SCBA's, SCBA Bottles, SCBA Masks, Thermal Imaging Cameras, Firefighting Hose, Firefighting Hose Nozzles, Ropes, Chains, and Hose Clamps.

Congratulations to the members of BCFFA Entry Level Academy Class 26-01 on completing your live structure burn and officially finishing the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy Entry Level Program!

Over the last several months, these students have put in more than 350 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on training. While this is a major milestone, their training isn't over yet. Next up is preparing for the Pro Board Firefighter I certification along with additional firefighter survival training to continue building the skills they'll need throughout their careers.

Congratulations, Class 26-01! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next.

At this morning’s Training Weekend meeting, we picked at random, the registration numbers to win a free pass to the 2026 Jimmy Ellis Training Weekend. Those passes are going to the following people:

#11 Trevor Schroeder
#6 Nikki Ward
And #49 Matt Croskey.

One was already given away at the social to Peter Jackson. Which leaves one more pass left, which will be given away at the next Association meeting, July 8. This will be given to a department within the association to award to a member of their choosing.

Lastly, you asked, we listened… the 2027 Training weekend will be in the fall of 2027. We are looking at mid September! We will announce the dates once a decision has been made!!!

The Annual Hookstown Memorial Day Parade is just a couple days away! Line up starts at 10am! Floats/Groups line up on Main Street. (Procced up North Washington Street and make the Right on to Main street). Fire Apparatus to line up on Mill Street in front of the Post Office. (Facing Route 168 towards Shippingport). The Parade will start at 11am! The Parade will start at the intersections of Main Street and 168 and travel South on Route 168 passing the Greene Township Park, continuing past the Hookstown Fair Grounds and the Hookstown VFD Ladies Aux who will be set up at the Hookstown Fire station selling Hot dogs and refreshments! The parade will finish in the American Legion Parking lot!

Pennsylvania is showing up in a BIG way this year! Registration numbers for PA Weekend at the National Fire Academy (July 17–19) are the highest they’ve been in years. 🚒

We want to hit 400 PA firefighters, so we’ve added two brand-new Pilot Programs to the schedule:

1️⃣ Fire as a Weapon: A deep dive into criminal/terrorist fire tactics, threat recognition, and interagency response.
2️⃣ Management of Catastrophic Incidents: Master the skills needed for large-scale disasters, mass casualty events, and high-pressure decision-making.
