His Place Fellowship Hall
A New Chapter of Faith Begins
Sometimes God calls you to build something you were never meant to keep — to save it, restore it, and prepare it for what comes next. That has been the story of His Place Fellowship Hall.
This vision was born in some of the darkest and most divided times our country has seen. Coming out of COVID, many felt isolated, uncertain, and weary. We were all trying to find our footing again — to heal, reconnect, and remember who we were as a community.
In December 2022, God placed a calling on my heart to breathe life back into a 1907 church that had been forgotten. With faith as our blueprint and community as our foundation, we began the work.
Through blood on our hands, tears on the floor, finances stretched thin, and prayers that never stopped, His Place was restored — not just as a building, but as a gathering place for truth, hope, and renewal.
The road to restoration was anything but easy.
We faced obstacles at every turn — bureaucratic delays, financial pressure, political resistance, and moments of deep discouragement. There were times when it felt like the harder we tried to do good, the more opposition came our way. But through it all, we held our ground in faith. Every challenge became another reminder that God’s purpose cannot be stopped by human hands.
Lives were touched here. Women found healing. Veterans found belonging. Families celebrated. And when tragedy struck in East Palestine and in Virginia, this building became a hub for relief and compassion.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this mission and witness what God did within these walls.
And now, after prayer and peace, I believe my role was to rescue and restore this space — and prepare it for its next chapter. It is time to turn the page.
I’m grateful to share that Orchard Hill Community Church will be taking stewardship of this building and carrying the mission forward. They are equipped, supported, and ready to see this place flourish and continue serving Bridgewater and beyond.
To everyone who prayed, served, donated, believed, and stood with us — thank you. You helped build something lasting.
This isn’t an ending. It’s fulfillment.
The work was never mine — it was His.
> “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”
— Philippians 1:6
May Bridgewater continue to grow in faith, truth, unity, and love.
May this building always remain a beacon of hope —
a place where God meets His people.
With love and gratitude,
Anthony Ellis
