The Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group is honored to join Tara's Meadow to present a very special 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗱𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. Master Irish storyteller Jane McDaniel joins accomplished Odawa storyteller Nichole Kiway Biber and Beaver Island resident historian Robert Cole for an unforgettable evening of song, storytelling, drumming & dance.

Looking for a unique summer activity? Ever wondered about the intricate dance moves you see at Irish festivals?
Local instructor Bridget Martin is hosting an 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 this summer, right here on Beaver Island!
Spread across 5 sessions, attendees will learn the basics of this traditional Irish dance with an opportunity to showcase their talents at the Irish Féile in September.
Appropriate for age 8 - 17. No prior experience or special equipment is necessary.

🚣 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵? 🚣

The Beaver Island Currach Club has their boats at the public beach. Stop by this evening from 4:00 - 6:00PM and check 'em out. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵. The club is hosting a workshop to learn about rowing technique that is unique to a Currach, the different roles on a Currach team, the rules of a Currach race, and much more!

Feel free to watch the demonstrations and if you decide you want to actually try some rowing with an experienced crew, it's only $25 for the entire weekend. If you decide you love it ( and you probably will), you can join the Beaver Island Currach Club and we'll apply your $25 toward the annual membership dues.
