Heads up, everyone! 🌳⚡️ We've got a tree and wires down on Hodgson Road in the 400 block. Your best bets for getting around are Sterling Road or 168. Due to storm activity in Beaver County, we don't have an ETA on when the electric company can clear the hazard. Remember, power lines can get tangled in fallen tree limbs, so if you're unsure, please don't approach – downed lines can become charged at any moment. Stay safe! ⚠️

We're back on Old Blackhawk Road with Verizon, working to safely replace a pole and remove a fallen tree. We know this has been a major inconvenience for residents and visitors, as Old Blackhawk is a main thoroughfare, but the recent wind storm impacted all of Beaver County. This is a multi-agency effort involving Verizon, Penn Power, Comcast, and PennDOT. We understand the frustration, but please remember not to attempt to clear roadways yourself if you're unsure of the situation. This was a dangerous tree fall with a snapped pole, and attempts to open the road independently worsened the situation, creating hazards for taller vehicles and potential further falling debris. When you see cones, road closed barriers, and caution tape, remember they are for safety, not to inconvenience you. Old Blackhawk will reopen soon to normal traffic flow. Incident Update: Structure Fire Response
At approximately **11:55 AM today**, our department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on **Lapeer Drive**.

The South Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department was a recipient of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Unconventional Gas Well Grant from the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner. These funds were used towards the purchase of a DJI Matrice 4T thermal drone. The drone will be used for firefighting, search & rescue, scene size up, damage assessment and training. We would like to thank the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner for their continued support.
