As my term as the Learn to Skate Program Director for BCFSC comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the past two years with a great deal of gratitude. I’ve dedicated many hours to restructuring our program to align with Learn to Skate USA standards, with the goal of providing high-quality instruction to beginner skaters in our community.

I’m proud of the growth we’ve seen, expanding BCFSC’s reach beyond Beaver County while continuing to ensure that each session remains safe, organized, and supportive for every skater who steps on the ice. Your skaters’ smiling faces throughout each session and the pride they show while displaying their badges on evaluation night have truly been the best advertising we could ever ask for.

As we look ahead to the next season, a permanent replacement has not yet been named, but I am hopeful that whoever steps into this role will continue to manage and grow this page as a way to keep our community connected. I also kindly ask that you remember this is a volunteer position. Please extend patience, understanding, and encouragement to the next Program Director as they take on this responsibility. Supporting them will help ensure the continued success of the program we all care about so much.

Thank you to all of the skaters, parents, instructors, and volunteers who have been part of this journey. It has been a privilege to serve the program, and I look forward to watching it continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.

As many of you may have heard, the rink’s cooling tower experienced a catastrophic pump failure, and the BCIA has had to suspend all ice activities since the ice can no longer be maintained. Because of this, our season will unfortunately be ending sooner than expected, and the Beaver County Figure Skating Club will not be able to host our annual Spring Show.

We know how much time, effort, and excitement goes into preparing for this event, and we truly share in your disappointment.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unexpected situation.

Refunds for show fees that have already been paid will be issued as follows:
•Credit card payments have been refunded back to the original card (please allow 3–7 business days to reflect in your bank acct).
•Cash payments can be refunded in person at the rink on Thursday, May 7th from 5:30–6:30 PM. If you’re unable to make it on Thursday, please reach out and we will arrange to mail you a check.

Thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of our Learn to Skate community.

For all LTS participants that signed up for the Spring Show, we hope to have more information by the time our Board meets on Tuesday (5/5). We will be reaching out to families via email once we have information on how this closure affects our show. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Well, that's a wrap on Session 5 and our 2025-26 Learn to Skate season!!!!

What an incredible journey it’s been watching these skaters grow in confidence, skill, and love for the ice. From those first wobbly steps to strong, proud strokes across the rink, every single skater has something to celebrate.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back in September 2026!

It’s hard to believe we’re already past the midpoint of Session 5...only two classes to go!

Sign-ups for the LTS Number in the BCFSC Spring Skating Show are now open, and skaters are also eligible to participate in the Community Number. If you didn’t get a chance to sign up tonight, you’ll have more opportunities during the next two classes...just stop by the check-in table.

We just got news that the song selection for the LTS Number will be Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling" and the Community Number will feature a fun Super Mario Bros. medley! 🎶🎮🧑‍🔧🪠

We had an absolute blast seeing so many of our past and present Learn to Skate participants light up the ice at Glow Skate this afternoon! ✨⛸️ Watching them glide out there with so much confidence and skill was seriously a proud moment for all of us.

While this was our final community public skate event of the season, don’t worry, we’re already looking forward to bringing you even more fun next season. Stay tuned...it’s only going to get better! 🎉

🎉⛸️ We have officially wrapped LTS Session 4! ⛸️🎉 Our weekend crew finished up today, and we couldn’t be prouder of all the hard work, smiles, and progress we’ve seen on the ice this session!

A big congratulations to Maylin S., Lucas S., and Thayer T. for passing their Basic 1 evaluations. 👏 Keep up the great work!

As we head into a very busy next few weeks preparing for our Spring Show, we will not be offering a weekend class for Session 5. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see many of you involved in the excitement ahead! Thank you to all of our skaters and families for another fun and successful session.
