As my term as the Learn to Skate Program Director for BCFSC comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the past two years with a great deal of gratitude. I’ve dedicated many hours to restructuring our program to align with Learn to Skate USA standards, with the goal of providing high-quality instruction to beginner skaters in our community.
I’m proud of the growth we’ve seen, expanding BCFSC’s reach beyond Beaver County while continuing to ensure that each session remains safe, organized, and supportive for every skater who steps on the ice. Your skaters’ smiling faces throughout each session and the pride they show while displaying their badges on evaluation night have truly been the best advertising we could ever ask for.
As we look ahead to the next season, a permanent replacement has not yet been named, but I am hopeful that whoever steps into this role will continue to manage and grow this page as a way to keep our community connected. I also kindly ask that you remember this is a volunteer position. Please extend patience, understanding, and encouragement to the next Program Director as they take on this responsibility. Supporting them will help ensure the continued success of the program we all care about so much.
Thank you to all of the skaters, parents, instructors, and volunteers who have been part of this journey. It has been a privilege to serve the program, and I look forward to watching it continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.
