Another Wisconsin Dairy Goat Associaton State Show/Badger Classic in the Books! Respectable numbers this year with over 300+ animals entering their respective rings over 2 days of competition. A huge thanks to our awesome exhibitors and judicious judges, and to our capable WDGA show committee who juggled all those behind the scenes tasks that laid the groundwork for a well run, successful show. Congratutions to our Best in Show winners!

Heads up- Final details to arrive in Beaver Dam!

1) Arrival is 3:30pm or after, thank you for respecting the volunteers and their ability to be ready for you!

2) Venmo, Cash, Check, or credit card on showman can be used for payment this weekend.

3) All pens are being labeled- you are assigned pens based on entry request. If you signed up for a tack pen it may not have a front in swine barn (last pen in the row). Please don't change any pens, we are supposed to leave as is. Only folks who can take dividers out are RED pens in sheep barn. Those are ok to switch due to such odd sizing.

4) If you have edits do them prior to check in to keep process efficient, don't forget registration books! Remember all goats must be entered under who OWNS them, not who plans to show them.

5) Shavings pick up, check in, and raffle are all in small animal building where shows are.

6) If you put "Dodge County Fairgrounds" Beaver Dam, Wi in GPS it doesn't have a street number, but will get you here perfectly!

7) Be cautious of your animals and consider a water filter (camper RV one) as water here can be a touch harder.

Call Ashley for any immediate needs: 608-219-1341 or text. She is most familiar with facility and local area to assist.

Additions to numbers needed ‼️ As of 5:45am today we are just over 300 entered, which is down, but the amount of graduates this year exactly calculates the why here in numbers. It happens some years and we appreciate you making this show part of your holiday weekend plans when you can come!

All breeds not listed are assumed official, the below mentions are specific to JR or SR, let Ashley know if you can help!

Nubian JRs: we need 5. A breeder offered one more, but we would still need to secure at least 4 more.

Recorded Grade JRs: need 2 more to hit 10!

Lamancha SR's: need 1 more to hit 10 Saturday, 3 to make 10 Sunday! ‼️ 🚨

Sables- need a lot to be official, both JR and SR.

Numbers we need to get to official for breeds πŸ“£β€ΌοΈπŸ“£

Note* if your breed isn't marked/listed, it means we are in good shape! Some of these emerged because animals were champion challenge and can't count in the numbers.

Sunday Senior Does:
Obers- need 2
Lamanchas- need 2
Recorded Grade- need 2
Sable- need 8

Saturday Senior Does:
Lamanchas- need 1
Recorded Grade- need 1
Oberhasli- need 2

Saturday Junior Doe Rings:
Lamancha- need 1
Nubian- need 5
Sable- need 8
Recorded Grade- need 3

Polite request- please work amongst your breeder friends to see who can help fill, Show Chair does not have the ability to seek out these needs. This is entirely on exhibitors to find numbers and we are definitely willing to share updates! We will update numbers again tomorrow morning!

We have gotten a ton of questions on the futurity show! When, how to dress, what does to show, you name it and we have probably answered it! This is great, but many are hesitant to enter it. Let's chat on what this looks like---

πŸ™ŒANY Jr doe can be entered in the JR doe futurity!

πŸ’―Come as you are and no need to dress up (unlike cattle futurities).

πŸ† You get 50% of the take for entries if you win, and a beautiful plaque with custom art on it that is super fun! If 10 goats are entered, that is $100 generated, and you get 50% of that take! No cap, more entries mean more money!

🚨 Best way to use this class? Consider showing a fancy JR who has a dry leg and you wouldn't mind showing them again for the extra accolades and attention! Does don't need a champion leg to be entered, it is just an idea for another way to use this class!

πŸ“ All breeds and ages are together from kids through dry yearlings. If this proves to go well, maybe we can get more specific in the future!

You can still enter the futurity and price will be $10!

Important Announcement on Saturday Judges:

Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Bob Bartholomew has determined he will not be able to make the trip to Wisconsin to judge this year. We have worked to find the best option and to keep the show moving forward. We want to extend a large thanks to Loren Larson from Minnesota who is able to come judge in Bob's place. Life happens and we are reminded that being understanding, flexible, and thankful are so important. We appreciate your understanding of this change and thank both judges for their dedication to our industry.
