FFA is a national student organization which promotes premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education and involvement in the school and community. What is FFA:
FFA is a national student organization which promotes premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education and involvement in the school and community. This organization

was formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, but has changed it purpose from a farming aspect to one that includes all agriculture areas. Who can join:
Any Beaver Dam High School student who is currently enrolled in an agriculture-education class is already an FFA Member through the National FFA Affiliated Chapter Program. These members can choose if they would like to be active or inactive members. FFA active membership is strongly recommended for all students in agriculture classes. FFA does accept members who are not enrolled in agriculture classes because of course-scheduling conflicts. Why join:
By becoming an FFA member, you join more than 610,240 students from across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands in the largest youth organization in the world. FFA helps members cooperate with others, improves leadership skills, and gives members a chance to explore career options in agriculture. Commenting guidelines regarding Beaver Dam FFA social media:

From dairy farms to story time to the Tooty-Ta dance floor, this crew did it all. 🐄📚💃

Carly Rohde, Mackinsey Lepple, and Cole Hemling recently visited Ms. Sharfenberg’s kindergarten class to share their passion for agriculture after the students’ spring dairy-farm field trip. The kindergarteners were full of questions and excitement as they learned from high school students with real-life ag experience.

The visit included plenty of smiles, a reading of “The Dairy Godmother,” and of course, the legendary Tooty-Ta dance. 🎶

Experiences like this are powerful for everyone involved. Younger students get positive role models and a better understanding of where their food comes from, while high school students build leadership, communication skills, and confidence by teaching others.

That’s the cool thing about agriculture education. Sometimes the lessons grow far beyond the classroom. 🌱

History. Conservation. Dirty boots. 🌿

Students in the Beaver Dam High School AgriScience and Natural Resources classes spent the day at Nitschke Mounds County Park learning about the ancient Effigy Mounds while helping protect the land for future generations.

Working alongside the Friends of Nitschke Mounds, students removed invasive plants like Garlic Mustard and Dame’s Rocket, species that spread aggressively and crowd out native plants that wildlife and pollinators depend on. By removing them, students helped give Wisconsin’s native ecosystems room to thrive, again.

Along the way, they explored the park’s spring, checked out the brand-new boardwalk around the pond, and experienced firsthand how conservation work connects history, science, and stewardship.

Not every classroom has walls. 🍃

As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, we celebrate eight seniors who helped shape the story of the Beaver Dam FFA chapter. 💙💛

Through early mornings, late nights, contests, conferences, community service, livestock shows, leadership events, bus rides, chapter meetings, and countless memories, these students left their bootprints on our chapter in a big way.

Please help us congratulate our Class of 2026 seniors:

⭐ Twilight Heinzen, UW-Madison College of Agricultural & Life Sciences, Animal Veterinary Bioscience
⭐ Owen Hemling, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Environmental Engineering
⭐ Charley Kircher, Redlands Community College, El Reno, Okla., Animal Science
⭐ Addison Lewke, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Radiologic Science
⭐ Aurora Rincon, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Architecture
⭐ Reese Schuett, owner of Yellow Lab Lawn and Snow LLC
⭐ Rylan Sether, Moraine Park Technical College, HVAC Technician Program
⭐ Mary Zwald, UW-Madison College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Dairy Food and Animal Management

Each of you brought something different to Beaver Dam FFA. Some led from the front of the room. Some worked quietly behind the scenes. Some kept everyone laughing when things got stressful. All eight helped make this chapter stronger.

As you turn the page to your next adventure, remember this:
You’ll always have roots here.

Thank you for the memories, leadership, hard work, and heart you gave this chapter.

Once an FFA member, always part of the Beaver Dam FFA family. 🌽🐄🐔🤠

🌱 Students making a difference, one plant at a time! 💧

Beaver Dam High School Agriscience Department students partnered with the Beaver Dam Lake District (https://bdlakedistrict.org/) to plant native species like oak sedge, goldenrod, and wild columbine for a demonstration plot near the lake.

These plants will help prevent erosion, improve shoreline health, and even stand up to hungry deer. 🦌

Projects like this give students hands-on experience while making a real impact on our community, environment, and the future of Beaver Dam.🌎
