Just something that is on my mind. I hear so many say, "I love what you do" or "you do so much for the community", but have you ever wondered how we do it? How do we cover rent and bills when we charge so little and give away so much, It's because my husband works his butt of to cover any short fall we have. Our rent is more than we bring in, in a month, add utilities on top of that and well, as you can tell each month we go into the hole. I don't work, because if I did, the store wouldn't be open to help those we help. It all falls on my husband, who just turned 65, has heart and back problems, but is doing construction work, to pay not just our bills, but the stores too.
If you are one of those that have said "I would like to help" then step up and help. Purchasing a building isn't just because we want to own something, it is a necessity to keep us in business. We cannot continue to help the community, when it is putting us in danger of not being able to take care of our own bills.
We are seeking monthly donors. $10, $20 or even more, but even 15 - $10/month donors, pays our rent and takes some of it off my husband. He deserves to slow down, just like all the others who have hit retirement age.
