Update: need met

We have a 74-year-old gentleman currently sitting without power, and he needs $173 to have it turned back on. We are desperately asking for help getting his lights back on. Any amount toward this need would be a blessing. ❤️

If we cannot raise the full amount, would anyone be willing to drop off a warm meal, flashlights, and batteries so he has something to eat and some light while he waits?

He lives near Springvilla Grocery in Beauregard. Please message us if you can help or arrange a drop-off.

Here is a need we’re praying our village can help with. 🤍

A single mama of four in Beulah reached out after facing more than any family should have to carry. Their home burned in February, and after working to rebuild, she has now lost her job. She’s trying to get her food truck running to support her children, but a water system issue has kept her from being able to work it.

She is facing eviction and needs $900 toward rent. Her power bill is $459.86, due November 6.

We don’t typically post needs this high, but we made an exception because this mama and her children have already been through so much. We know we may not be able to collect all of it, but even $200 toward rent or enough to cover the power bill would be such a blessing and give her a little breathing room.

If you’re able to give $5 or $10, every bit adds up. If you can’t give, please share and keep this family in your prayers. We may not be able to meet the whole need, but we can still make a difference. 🤍

Life has been heavy for so many of us. Bills don’t stop, and as we enter the holiday season, even the simple things begin to add up. 🤍

We have a few neighbors who could use a little help:

1. A 68-year-old woman is $76 short on her light bill.
2. An elderly man needs socks and size large underwear.
3. A single mom needs winter clothes for her daughter, size 10/12, leaning more toward a 12. She especially needs pants. Mom can meet in Beauregard or provide an address for drop-off.
4. A family needs $59 to pay their water bill.
5. A mom is asking for help purchasing Tylenol and a humidifier for her sick infant. She does not have gas to meet but can privately provide an address for drop-off.
6. We are still looking for Christmas sponsors to help make the holidays a little brighter. 🎄

We have a sweet mama who reached out to us in desperation, and we would love to help take a little weight off her shoulders. 🤍

She is currently the only one working in the home while her husband applies for disability. They have a 10-year-old and an 8-month-old. Mom accidentally overlooked a bill, leaving her account negative $326. Now she has nothing for gas to get back and forth to work, and catching up will leave her short on their mortgage next pay period.

I think so many of us know that gut-wrenching feeling when bills and life become overwhelming—when one oversight creates a ripple effect and you don’t know how you’re going to catch up.

This mama is working hard to keep her family afloat. We would love to collect whatever we can to help her get back on her feet and keep getting to work. If you feel led to give, any amount would be appreciated. If you can’t donate, please share and keep this family in your prayers. 🤍

We have a father traveling to Parris Island to watch his son graduate from Marine Corps boot camp! 🇺🇸🎓

These past week has been heavy for Harper’s Hand. We haven’t been able to fully meet a single need brought to us, and knowing people are still waiting and worrying is truly heartbreaking. But we are going to keep posting, keep praying, and keep doing what we can. 🤍

This season is ALWAYS the hardest. We’re coming out of those months when power bills practically double and heading straight into the holidays. So many families are already stretched thin, and we know those who give are feeling it, too.

Here are the needs we are still praying to meet:

1. 💡 A 64-year-old disabled woman needs at least $278 by tomorrow to keep her power on.
2. 💧 A very sweet single mama needs $54 to pay her water bill.
3. 🤍 A sweet chemo patient needs protein shakes. I have a picture of the kind her family has been purchasing. I know firsthand how expensive these are—a large box is roughly $32 at Sam’s.
4. 🎄 We are still collecting Christmas decorations for an individual on hospice, so their family can surround them with a little Christmas joy.
5. 🦃 We need FOUR more Thanksgiving boxes sponsored. Each box costs roughly $75, or you can purchase the groceries and drop them off yourself!
6. 🧹 We need two or three more volunteers Tuesday to help finish cleaning a home for a couple. If you have an 18-year-old needing community service hours, bring them along! Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes. Message us for details.
7. 🎁 We are still helping with Christmas sponsorships! We understand sponsoring an entire child may be too much, but any little bit helps more than you know. Consider teaming up with a friend and splitting a sponsorship. 🤍
8. 🏡 We are still working toward 50 people donating $25 each, with a drawing for one donor to receive $500 and the remaining $750 going toward rent assistance for a mama in need.

Please never think your help is too small. A few dollars, a box of shakes, your time, or simply sharing this post can help us reach someone who can meet a need.

We may not be able to do everything, but we are going to keep showing up with faith that these families won’t have to carry it all alone. Thank you for continuing to care alongside us. 🤍

🤍 A sweet 64-year-old woman living with off disability has reached out to Harper’s Hand for help with a $551 utility bill. She lives on a small fixed income, and this is more than she can manage alone. We know this is a lot, but if I can get the past due amount at least paid I will have more likely of a chance asking churches to help her.

I would really love for us to come together and ease this burden for her. If you’re able to give even a few dollars, every bit helps. If you can’t donate, a share and a prayer mean so much. 🫶🏼

Update: we have $50

We have a mama desperately trying to get to her 19 year old daughter in Ohio, where her daughter is currently hospitalized. We don’t know her daughter’s condition at this time, but mama is just $117 short on her plane ticket, and her flight leaves at 9:00 PM.

I cannot imagine the worry of knowing your child is in the hospital so far away. No matter how grown they are, that’s still your baby girl. ❤️

Mama has only asked for help getting there and doesn’t want us asking for food donations. Our priority is covering that ticket, but I would love to offer her a little extra for a meal if she feels comfortable accepting it.
