💜 Harper’s Hand Community Need 💜

We were recently contacted by a hardworking single mama who is doing everything she can to keep her bills paid and provide for her little boy. She shared that she has diapers covered, but is running low on many of the everyday household necessities that most of us use without a second thought.

She is currently in need of:

🧻 Toilet Paper
🧻 Paper Towels
🧼 Dish Soap
🧺 Laundry Detergent
🧽 Cleaning Products
🗑️ Trash Bags
👶 Baby Wipes
🏠 Other household essentials

She isn’t asking for a handout—just a little help getting through a tight season while making sure her responsibilities are taken care of.

If anyone would like to donate items or contribute financially so we can shop for her, please let us know. No donation is too small, and every little bit helps lighten the load for a mama who is working hard to make ends meet.

💜 Harper’s Hand Urgent Need 💜

We have a mama in our community who is in desperate need of help keeping her water on. She is currently facing a water bill of $168 and is struggling to come up with the funds before service is disconnected.

This sweet mama is not only caring for her children, but she is also the caregiver for her elderly mother. As many of us know, life can become overwhelming when you’re trying to take care of everyone else and make ends meet.

If you are able to help, no amount is too small. Every $5, $10, or $20 adds up quickly and can make a huge difference for this family.

💜 Harper’s Hand Update 💜

First, we want to apologize for being a little MIA lately. Life has thrown a lot our way over the last few weeks, and we’ve been navigating some personal challenges behind the scenes. Thank you for your patience, grace, and continued support.

We are excited to say that we’re jumping back into this head first! We have some new services in the works while continuing the programs and services that have always been close to our hearts. We are ready to get back to serving our community the best way we know how.

We have had several needs come in recently. Unfortunately, until donations begin picking back up, we will need to be very selective with requests to ensure that we can continue helping those facing the most urgent situations.

Current Needs:

1. We have a sweet lady whose husband is currently hospitalized at UAB. She has been provided a room to stay in, but she could really use help with gas and meals while she remains by his side.

2. We have a sweet friend without air conditioning. She is in need of fans, portable air conditioners, or anything that could help cool her home during these hot summer days.

3. We are still collecting items for our summer food drive. Any kid-friendly food items are greatly appreciated! Ramen noodles have been a huge hit and are always needed, along with snacks, cereal, fruit cups, and other easy meal options.

4. We have a 71-year-old gentleman whose power is scheduled to be disconnected on Tuesday. His wife passed away just a couple of months ago, and he is truly living on a fixed income. Unfortunately, his power bill was much higher than he budgeted for this month.

💜 Harper’s Hand Lawn Care Program Update 💜

We are super excited to announce that we have received funding to provide FREE lawn care services for 20 elderly individuals on disability! 🌿✂️

Thanks to this generous support, we will be able to assist:
✅ 20 lawns in June
✅ 20 lawns in July

And we are praying for additional funding that will allow us to continue helping our seniors through September! 🙏

We currently have a few spots remaining in this program. If you or someone you know is elderly, on disability, and struggling to maintain their yard, we would love to help.

💜 Harper’s Hand Update 💜

We are hoping to give out our next round of food boxes on Thursday! Mrs. Terrie will be going shopping Monday or Tuesday, and we are working hard to make sure our families have a little extra support.

The boxes are much smaller this year, but our goal is to provide them every two weeks for families rather than one larger box less often.

The thought of a child going hungry is truly heartbreaking. The truth is that some children aren’t blessed with parents who always put them first, and some parents are carrying so much trauma that it impacts their ability to parent the way they want to. It is not our place to judge. Instead, we will continue to pray for these families, love them where they are, and drop off food whenever we can. 💜

We are asking for a few more donations to help stretch our budget, or for donations of inexpensive items such as:

• Ramen Noodles
• Cereal
• Grits
• Snack items for children

Mrs. Terrie is also able to purchase snacks at a much cheaper rate than most stores. Just $15 can provide almost 15 items for our boxes!

🚨 URGENT NEED 🚨

Tonight, we’re asking our amazing community to help a mama in Beauregard with four children who desperately needs groceries.

Her children are all in 6th grade and under, and like so many families right now, she’s doing her best to make it through a difficult season. The good news is that she will be added to our Summer Feeding Program next week, but that doesn’t help put food on the table this weekend.

If you would like to donate groceries directly, please send us a message. We can also collect monetary donations and place a grocery delivery order for the family.

No amount is too small. A few dollars here and there truly add up, and together we can make sure these four sweet kiddos have food in their home this weekend.

💜 Community Need – Let’s Help a Grandmother Raising 4 Little Ones 💜

We have a grandmother who is doing her very best to care for 4 small children, and she could use a little help from our community right now.

She is currently in need of clothing for the children:

👧 Female – Size 8/9
👧 Female – Size 7/8
👦 Male – Size 6/7
👧 Female – Size 5/6

She does not have transportation, which makes things even more difficult. With all of the children home for the summer, her power bill and grocery bill have increased significantly, and she is feeling the strain. She could also use fans to help keep the home comfortable during these hot summer days as well.

If you have gently used clothing, a fan, or would like to make a monetary donation to help with groceries and utilities, it would mean so much to this family.

💔 We had a single mama reach out today asking for help with daycare.

Her daycare payment was due today, and she’s still $46 short. On top of that, she could really use about $20 in gas money just to make it through the week.

Like so many families right now, she’s feeling the strain of summer. Having two children in daycare has created an unexpected financial burden, and she’s doing everything she can to keep her head above water.

The truth is, it’s been a hard year for most people. Groceries cost more, gas costs more, and childcare is a necessity for parents who are trying their best to work and provide for their children.

If anyone would like to help lighten the load for this sweet mama, no amount is too small. Those $5, $10, and $20 donations add up so quickly and can make a world of difference.
