Today, our Hazmat team participated in quarterly training focused on rail car leak response scenarios. These hands-on exercises help ensure our personnel remain prepared, knowledgeable, and ready to respond effectively when emergencies occur. We appreciate the team’s continued commitment to safety, readiness, and professional excellence.

Our Beaumont Project Fire Buddies chapter recently had a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for the program. The putt putt tournament was a huge success and we are proud of the work they are doing to help our most vulnerable in the community. We are half way through Cancer Awareness Month. Last year the City of Beaumont announced to the community and its voters that Beaumont Firefighters were being exposed daily and the Beaumont Professional Firefighters Local 399 started pushing for screening to provide early detection. All we’ve gotten in response to the screening request is “we are working on it”. There are ways to have this screening done now and city and Fire Chief are dragging their feet. 3 of our firefighters have been diagnosed since the city’s announcement.

Beaumont Firefighters remain committed to gaining and maintaining equal rights and benefits for our fire department first responders.

The men and women of the Beaumont Fire Department commit their lives to the well being and safety of those in need in our city.

Our members work alongside each other on ambulances performing the same job, but work different schedules.

We don’t believe it is asking too much for those saving lives daily to be compensated well and to work the same schedules.

Good work/life balance is paramount to good mental health and strong productivity.

The schedule we are asking for the EMS personnel to change to provides good work/life balance that they do not currently have.

This will reduce the turnover rate and keep the experience we need to continue our success in providing excellent service to the citizens.

We will continue to keep our optimism that we will secure good pay, benefits and working conditions for all members, and we thank the public for your support.

!🚒CITY ADMITS CONTRACT VIOLATIONS🚑! On Friday, 1/23/26, firefighters attended arbitration because the Fire Department administration violated our contract. In the end the city admitted to breaking the contract six times over the past two years. Instead of resolving this quickly, the city dragged out the process past the deadline to cancel arbitration, forcing taxpayers and firefighters to cover the cost of the hearings. Instead of paying each affected firefighter about $50, the city chose to waste thousands of dollars and city resources over two years just to avoid a small payment. This clearly shows a blatant disregard for the rights and benefits of our first responders. Please stand with our firefighters and demand accountability. This makes 8 arbitrations where local 399 prevailed in the last 2 years. We have several more arbitrations pending that need to be settled before the citizens incur more unnecessary costs.
