re are cell phones, broadband, Bluetooth, e-mail, websites, Facebook and Twitter... but Calder Place 1929 stays mostly the same. It is a place where people want independence, but realize that sometimes there must be compromise for the good of all. It is a place where folks recognize their neighbors and actually know some of their names, what kind of car they drive, and what kind of dog they walk in the morning. There are lively discussions about what to call the Calder Place organization, but people pay dues when needed for a project, even though there is no formal dues structure. A variety of neighbors decorate for Christmas, fly the flag on every patriotic occasion, and host spooky goblins and witches on Halloween. Calder Place is a wonderful and ongoing blend of the old and the new, a marvelous study in contradiction in which things constantly change, and yet stay the same. This page was developed to serve as an informative resource for those who live here and for those who would like to make Calder Place 1929 their home. 4th of July Parade was amazing today! 20 years of doing the parade! Thank you to all who came out to watch, participate in and volunteered for! So much fun to see everyone in their red white and blue!
Big shout of thanks to Entergy for sponsoring our parade this year…they kept us going…thanks to BPD and BFD for keeping us safe…thanks to Boy Scout Troop 122 for carrying our colors every year…and to Market Basket and Chick Fil A for providing snacks for us after the parade!
We do this every year, rain or shine, on July 4th at 9am! If you missed it this year, come see us next year!
