We’ve been inspired by to highlight our clients and share their stories.
In Beaumont, it seems like “success stories” are few and far between when it comes to the homeless. John is one of those stories.
When John was released from jail, he was left with nothing. But he was determined to get back on his own two feet. Henry’s place helped him get a driver’s license, but he took care of the rest. He got help getting a cell phone, and he used it to diligently search for a job. He found a steady, good paying job. In his free time he volunteers at our SOP soup kitchen. Speaking of that, Keith, who runs the kitchen, was able to sell him his spare truck. When I started writing this post, the story was only a partial success. John was living in that truck, and searching for an RV to live in. However he shared with me that he was able to move into an apartment, so John’s success is complete!
Although, while it is wonderful he is housed, healthy, and safe, the truth is, success has no finish line! So, keep on growing, John!
