Ok folks here is an opportunity to help the folks in WNC. We have been partnering with Mine Creek Baptist with supplying campers to displaced families due to the storm.
They are expecting freezing weather this weekend. We need hay bales and pool noodles to help under pin and insulate water lines to these campers.

Hello everyone! 👋🏼 We have been busy getting things ready for the holiday season! 🦃🎄

It’s hard to believe that we’re coming up on almost 2 months since Helene hit WNC. We haven’t had any groups up there in a couple of weeks, but we do have family up there. It’s definitely getting better but far from what it used to be 💔

The church we have been partnered with had to close their distribution center, but they are still out working within the community! I spoke with Pastor Bruce a few days ago and they are working on rebuilding/fixing homes! 🏡

Within the next couple of weeks, we have people going up from Honea Path to serve thanksgiving meals 🥘 and a group from Beaufort going up to help people rebuild their homes!

And last but not least, an update on our Christmas baskets for the elderly folks! Y’ALL HAVE BEEN AMAZING! 🤩 Our Amazon wishlist has pretty much been bought thanks to yall! Our goal is to distribute those by the second weekend in December. Any monestaru donations we get will be going towards purchasing gift cards to put in the baskets full of goodies! We want to give them the opportunity to pick out something they want ❤️ So if you’d like to help, please consider donating to our Venmo! We have 20 baskets and we’re wanting to gift them a $100 Walmart gift card each!

We haven’t posted as often but we are still working with people in WNC. They are still a long ways from a new normal and we want to do everything we can! Thank you everyone for the support!

🌧 Mitchell County Rainy Weather Post-Hurricane Helene 🌧

As we continue to feel the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, rainy conditions are expected over the upcoming days. With our infrastructure already impacted, additional rainfall could potentially cause further issues in some areas like landslides and weak trees falling.

We encourage all residents to:

⚠️Stay alert to conditions in your area.
⚠️Report any visible road damage or fallen debris to local authorities. 828-688-9110
⚠️Limit non-essential travel on roads that may already be compromised.
