When asked why is it important to you to further your education/attend a post-secondary Educational institution, she responded:
“Education is vital, it’s the key to success. Where money won’t take you, knowledge will. My passion is social work, that’s where my heart is and I would enjoy going to college for doing something I love. I don’t look at it as a secondary school, I look at it as a secondary home. Waking up with excitement, learning about your career. Prepping your day with the mindset of positivity as you walk through your classroom doors. College is not for everybody, understandable. But it is for me, it’s a chance to experience maturity for those who may lack it. Look past the “norm” that was accepted in high school and truly be different. Embrace different cultures and different set’s of people . Some people don’t go to college because they don't have a support system, anyone to push them. Luckily I do, I want to be the first child out of my siblings to attend a university. My mother pushes me to my full potential and motivates me. She wants me to do what she couldn’t, and I will. To do what my father couldn’t, and I will. I choose to be the success story. I have a great amount of family that will stand by behind me in my quest to seek higher education. So I will. I’d like to work for the state. To be a caseworker and assigned cases to help better lives. I want to be someone that is loved and well appreciated in their profession. Work in a foster care setting and taking broken and damaged children and teens; then turning their lives around for the better. Be that one star in a dim space. And I have to do it one step at a time. So what’s the first step? Higher education.”
