September has been a busy month for Beaufort Ole Towne Rotary. At our meeting last week we had a very informative program by Tom Oxholm about the crisis in funding for NC public schools.

We awarded member Mike Geaney his Paul Harris + pin for his contributions to Rotary International.

Finally, this week members and guests enjoyed the last sunset cruise of summer on the Lookout Sailboat. Our thanks to Captain Rob for a great time.

Our club had a great meeting on Monday at the Beaufort Club. Our program was given by Erica Jones , director of the Carteret Education Foundation. Ms. Jones helped us learn about the role of the Foundation and how it is involved in improving our local schools.
We presented a check from the funds of June Road Race to Josie Arroyo, director of the Carteret Domestic Violence Center.
Member Kevin McHugh was presented with a Paul Harris+3 pin to celebrate donations to Rotary International.
A huge thank you to our members that participated in our work day helping Beaufort Elementary School get ready for back to school next week.

Congratulations and thank you Tracy on a great year. Jim and his team are raring to get started on the new Rotary year. We all had a good time. If you aren’t having fun you aren’t doing Rotary right.
