LtCoL “Ping” Scanlan was the best of them. Had great stories about flying a convertible Phantom off the coast of Japan. Took a manpad to the tail pipe during desert storm. Stand up comedian, author, leader, fighter WSO, and a great man. RIP, Ping.

John William Simpson, 77, husband of Lois Harman Simpson, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 10:00am at Anderson Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 11:00am.

Graveside funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors

Sad to report that former Santini Squadron XO John "Simple" Simpson passed away last night. Simple met with the Lowcountry Knuckleheads one last time Wednesday evening before taking his final flight. RIP, Simple. Will miss ya buddy.
