Hello all!
A few weeks ago, we decided we wanted to help those less fortunate than us. We wondered what the best way to do that would be, and came to the conclusion that we should just go ask them.
So that is what we did. We scraped together some cash for backpacks, blankets, socks and hats, and on November 13th we gave them away in downtown Savannah. We asked everyone we encountered,
"If we were to come back next time what should we bring you?"
The answers varied from heating candles, to sweaters to food that is good to eat at room temperature. The more we do this, the more we will learn about how best to give. We started the night with 23 backpacks full of stuff, and it took us barely an hour to give it all away, and that was all on just a few blocks.
If you choose to give, I make three promises to you:
We will not take a single penny for ourselves, not even for gas money.
Every aspect of the finances will be completely public and posted to this page.
Lastly, you will be directly helping the most vulnerable people, getting them exactly what they need.
