24 years has passed, but the memory and legacy of Stephen and Jeff live on through the LeVeen Roach Scholarship.

Please say a few prayers for all of those lost and for the families that are missing their loved one today.

Please enjoy this video which has been a project we knew we had to accomplish.

Nice update from Jaxon Garner who is our Frank Stone Memorial Scholar. He's had a busy semester -
"I have had the busiest semester to date.

I am working multiple internships, one being in the Television, Cinema, and Podcasting Lab as a Student Assistant. The internship has really made me realize that I want to work in audio and news production mainly in the sports world.

I am also working an internship with some of the local newspapers in Augusta, such as The Augusta Press and Augusta Good News. These have really helped me craft my writing and photography skills.

On top of the two internships my school schedule is a lot of projects that require multiple interviews, with athletes, coaches, and staff at the school. With the effects of Hurricane Helene, a majority of my classes are still trying to catch up, so that has added extra work. I haven't had much time to relax this semester, but I enjoy getting the experience under my belt. "

Congratulations Jaxon, and good work. Keep it up!

Yesterday, September 11, is the most meaningful date on the LeVeen-Roach calendar. It's the date, 23 years ago, when America was attacked and when our two friends, Jeffrey LeVeen and Stephen Roach, lost their lives. This article from a few years ago offers a bit of perspective on the LeVeen Roach Scholarship Fund, its origins, its work and purpose. We serve more scholars than when the article was written but maintain and are increasing our commitment.

We appreciate receiving notes from our scholars, like this one from recent University of South Carolina graduate Alyssa Jo Jezewski -
"Dear ... LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund Board,
I wanted to thank you all so much for the support your foundation has given me these past four years. I have completed my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree and graduated from the University of South Carolina last Friday. I graduated with Magna Cum Laude designation and deeply cherished my time as a member of the sorority Alpha Delta Pi. While my college years are closed I am so excited for the future. Starting in September I will be working in the Neonatal ICU at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC! I wanted to once again thank you for the assistance in making my dreams possible!

Kindest Regards,
Alyssa Jo Jezewski"

Congratulations Alyssa Jo on your outstanding academic record and best wishes for happiness and a successful career.
