404: Mother’s Day 💐
Scout moms are built a little differently.
They’ve learned that long johns absolutely count as a thoughtful gift. That sleeping outdoors one weekend a month is normal life now. And that “packing for the weekend” now includes headlamps, bug spray, duct tape, and walkie talkies. 🏕️
Our weekends are spent in “rustic” cabins, dining halls, and tents that feel like slightly upgraded trash bags where everything is somehow always just a little damp. 😂 And through it all, these moms are doing something extraordinary. They’re not only raising their own children, they’re quietly helping shape an entire troop of them.
This Mother’s Day, the moms of Troop & Pack 404 weren’t gathered together in person, but we were together in the way that really counts: the group chat. Digging through years of camera roll memories to find photos of one another… muddy uniforms, exhausted faces, proud moments, and stories that somehow get funnier every time we tell them. 😜
So today, thank you.
To every mom, leader, volunteer, Grubmaster, chauffeur, snack-bringer, gear-finder, and behind-the-scenes problem solver: you are the reason this troop works. You are the reason kids keep coming back. You are part of what makes this feel like home.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women helping raise not only their own children, but an entire troop full of incredible humans. 💕
