Board member spot light!

Meet Megan Overbeck. Megan works full time at Good Samaritan Society as the Activities Director and lives with her husband and son on their family farm east of Beatrice. Megan has been officially serving on the board since 2020. But in the pictures below you will see she has been around for a few years! Her love for the building stems from her families long history serving on the board. Her great grandfather was on the planning commity for when the building was just an idea. Her grandfather was voted the first acting president of the board. Her mother and father served on the board in the 90’s and would bring Megan along to help get ready for large events being held in the building. Megan currently serves as the treasurer for the board.
Megan enjoys writing grants for the building, catering meals to raise funds and reaching out to the community to bring awareness to the buildings history and that we are a wonderful place to host your next family or business event!
Megan has been a big part of the buildings improvements over the last 5yrs and she is looking to slow down to spend more time helping her family on the farm.

If you are interested in helping out on the 4-H Inc. board, please join us at our next meeting on Dec 17th at 7pm.

Board member spot light!
Marty Trauernicht- Owner of local construction company, True Blue Construction has a history with the building!
He did the bathroom remodel in the 90’s and again the board chose his bid for the building remodel we completed a few years ago.
He joined the board in 2024 after I believe he grew a very strong love hate relationship with the building as he ran into many unexpected trials during the remodel, but he sees the potential the building has for an amazing community center.
Marty has never been a member of 4-H or had any kids involved in the 4-H program. In fact , the fair of 2024 was the first time Marty had even been in the building during the fair. He was amazed to see how hard all of the youth work on their projects that fill the building that week.
Marty serves as Property Chair and we are so greatful for the knowledge he brings to the group! He’s always a phone call away and willing to come in and help at any time of day or evening when we can’t figure out why the doors won’t lock or unlock or something won’t turn off or turn on🤷🏻‍♀️😂❤️.
If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer and make a difference, we would love you to join our board and help us in continuing to improve this building for the community. You do not have to have any direct ties to 4H as we offer our building to all of the community not just that small group. Please join us at our next board meeting Nov. 5 @ 7:00pm
