Tara Stallworth Lee is a multimedia artist and author from Beatrice, in north Monroe County, Alabama. She is the daughter of Dr. Jim and Claire Boulware Stallworth. She has written a book named “An Alabama Song” that focuses on people connected to music in Alabama. This book is volume one that will highlight those artists who have entertained us through their musical talents. Watch the video in the link for more information. If you would like to honor a special Veteran in the Beatrice Veterans Memorial Garden the Beatrice Garden Club is currently constructing in downtown Beatrice, I will be glad to email or mail the form(s) to you. Just PM me. Bricks are $100 and can be personalized with 4 lines, up to 21 characters/spaces on each line. We will continue to accept applications, but the deadline to get the current order in is August 15, 2026. This will give us time to get them ordered, processed, shipped, checked for accuracy and laid at the Memorial before the dedication on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Neither you nor the Veteran have to have lived in Beatrice or Monroe County....we want to honor as many Veterans as possible. We have already had over 100 orders already. If you have already ordered....THANK YOU!

Mark your calendars for October 10, 2026 for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial Garden in conjunction with the 125th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of the Town of Beatrice!
