2019 — Chasing the Snow ❄️🏂

In 2019, I flew into Reno, Nevada, ready to snowboard Heavenly and Kirkwood. The season was amazing, but of course, the week I flew in, temperatures were sitting around 65–70 degrees. Beautiful spring riding—but coming from the East Coast, we already know a thing or two about amazing spring conditions.

What we don’t get nearly as often is that steep, deep, bottomless powder you can find out West. 🌨️🏔️

Then my friend Jen told us Utah was getting absolutely hammered with snow. So my buddy Matt and I looked at each other and basically said, “What the hell… let’s send it to Utah.” 😂

We jumped in the rental and headed out. That drive was absolutely wild—snow was nuking, conditions were getting crazy, and we had no idea exactly what we were getting ourselves into.

When we finally made it to Utah, we woke up to freezing rain. Not exactly the deep-powder dream we had pictured. 😂 But I still managed to capture some pretty sweet photos and eventually got out to Solitude, which was actually pretty decent considering the circumstances.

Of course, I really wanted to hit Brighton, but the road was closed.

Sometimes the best snowboarding memories aren’t the perfect bluebird days. They’re the ones where you see a storm coming, say “screw it,” pile into a rental car with your friends, and go chase it.

2019. One hell of an adventure. 🏂❄️🏔️
