🎉 Thank you everyone for joining us as we officially cut the ribbon on the Thompsonville-Copemish Trail Connector!

Together we resurfaced 3.4 miles of historic railroad bed and added a new bridge over Bear Creek, extending year-round nonmotorized trail all the way to Copemish. 🚴🚶❄️

This connector was completed through a collaboration among Friends of SMARTrails, the Michigan DNR, Networks Northwest, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Manistee County Community Foundation, engineering firm Gourdie Fraser, and primary contractor AJ's Excavating, with additional support from the Manistee County Recreation Commission, the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and the Benzie-Manistee Snowbirds. A huge thank you to every partner and community member who made this possible.

This is a big milestone for Manistee County Trails - but we're just getting started!
