Come join us for a covered dish jam today at Sharpe 's Store. The music will crank up at 10 a.m. on the stage and about Noon the food will be enjoyed under the shade of old oak trees. We'll provide lemonade, tea and water as well as utensils. Bring a dish and enjoy a meal, music and maybe some new friends.

Launches new season
NEAR GOLDSTON—Sharpe Store Music will kick off its 2016 Saturday morning jam sessions this Saturday at 10 a.m. The store hosts music inside the historic building on cool mornings and uses its outside performance stage during warm weather.
After a winter hiatus, the store hosts musicians the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 until 12 noon from March through December. For more than 15 years, the store has provided musicians of all levels of talent an opportunity to showcase bluegrass, country and gospel music.
In 2003, the store closed after its long-time proprietor Reno Sharpe’s declining health prevented him from operating the store daily as he had for more than 60 years music. Sharpe passed away in 2009, his son Ricky remains involved and the music plays on.
During the past seven years, Sharpe Store Music, a non-profit was formed with a volunteer Board of Directors who manage the music Saturdays, and public concerts each year on the grounds and a number of projects to preserve the historic treasure in the community. All proceeds are used for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds. Donations are appreciated and are tax deductible.
The public is welcome to the Saturday music. This old country store is located at 5889 Goldston-Pittsboro Road a few miles east of Goldston. More information is available at www.sharpestoremusic.org.

Don't forget--the music next Saturday will be at Goldston United Methodist Church from 8-10 a.m. along with our pancake breakfast as a fund raiser for the store. We will be serving pancakes from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Come on out and help us raise money to support the store.

Join us Saturday, Dec. 1 for a delicious pancake breakfast and some festive bluegrass music from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Goldston United Methodist Church, Adults $6 children under 10 eat free when accompanied by a parent. A silent auction will be underway from 7 to 9:30 a.m. The Goldston Christmas Parade follows at 11 along Main street. Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will be used for improvements in the building and grounds.
