The Gathering Place’s mission is to provide a caring community that supports, educates and empowers individuals and families currently coping with the impact of cancer through programs and services provided free of charge. Located in Cleveland, OH, The Gathering Place reaches individuals wherever they are on their cancer journey with services designed to complement traditional cancer care by addre

ssing the mind, body and spirit through weekly and monthly support groups, educational lectures, healthy lifestyle classes and other events. Since its inception in 2000, the organization has helped more than 47,000 individuals coping with cancer through more than 371,000 visits. The Gathering Place is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded by the generous donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and special events. A small library with a big heart. 💜

Thanks to the generosity of Kinley Macknin, visitors to The Gathering Place East can now enjoy a brand new Little Free Library!

Kinley raised the funds to purchase the library and filled it with some of her favorite books to share with our community. Her dad, Jon, even helped bring the project to life by installing it himself.

This thoughtful gift is a wonderful reminder that kindness and community come in all sizes-and that even our youngest supporters can make a meaningful impact.

The next time you're at The Gathering Place East, be sure to stop by, take a book, leave a book, and celebrate Kinley's incredible generosity.

A huge thank you to Cleveland Jewish News for highlighting this year's Race for the Place and helping share the stories of our incredible community.

More than 2,200 people came together on National Cancer Survivors Day to celebrate survivors, honor loved ones, and support individuals and families impacted by cancer. Every step taken helps keep The Gathering Place's programs and services free for those who need them most.
