UPDATE - ONE ATLANTIC CITY OFFICER CRITICALLY INJURED IN SHOOTING. Atlantic City PBA Local #24 has started a GoFundMe account. Please lend a hand and keep the prayers coming.

Details:
On June 2nd, 2026, our friend, colleague, husband, father, and brother in blue, Sergeant Christian Ivanov of the Atlantic City Police Department, was critically injured after being shot in the line of duty while serving and protecting the community he has dedicated his life to. Christian is currently in stable but serious condition, surrounded by his family, friends, and fellow officers as he begins the fight toward recovery.

To many, Christian is a highly respected SWAT Sergeant with the Atlantic City Police Department, a leader who has spent his career running toward danger when others are running away from it. He is known for his courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. But beyond the badge, Christian is so much more. He is a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to three young children who are now facing an uncertain and difficult road ahead. He is a successful small business owner, a mentor, a friend, and the kind of person who is always willing to help others without hesitation.

Today, Christian and his family need our help. The road to recovery will be long. As Christian focuses on healing, his family will be faced with medical expenses, travel costs, childcare needs, household expenses, and countless unforeseen challenges that come with recovering from a traumatic injury.

We are asking the Atlantic County community, touched by the sacrifices made by first responders, to stand with Christian and his family during this difficult time. Christian has spent his life protecting others. Now it is our turn to support him. Thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers.

At last week’s Borough of Beachwood Council meeting, three new officers were officially sworn in as full-time members of the the Beachwood Police Department.

Pictured from left to right:
Ptl. Patrick Fullerton
Ptl. Austin Dinklage
Ptl. Vincent Pedone

Each officer has previously served the Borough of Beachwood as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO II), where they consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to the community. During their time with the agency, all three have proven themselves to be valuable assets to the department and have earned this next step in their law enforcement careers.

We congratulate Officers Fullerton, Dinklage, and Pedone on this achievement and wish them continued success and safety as they begin their careers as full-time police officers serving the residents of Beachwood.

This weekend let us remember all those who sacrificed everything for the freedom we enjoy today. This Memorial Weekend is more than the kickoff to summer, it is a time to pause, reflect, and remember the price it cost for the life we enjoy because of the BRAVE! May we always remember the over 1.5 million who gave their lives for our country. May God watch over all of them.

At last week’s Council Meeting, Mayor Cairns and the governing body presented a proclamation recognizing Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week.

This proclamation serves as a reminder of the dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment demonstrated daily by law enforcement officers in service to their communities. It also stands as a solemn tribute to those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and to the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.
