Our two new facility dogs have arrived home to Ohio! Natasha will work University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in the pediatric intensive care unit and Loki will work in Volunteer Services University Hospitals. We are so exited for their arrival and for the wonderful work these two will do providing comfort and joy for both children and adult patients. Thank you to Canine Assistants, PetSmart Charities and to Flexjet for safe, calm, complimentary transport.

Thank you to Flexjet for partnering with University Hospitals to fly our newest facility dogs home from Canine Assistants in Atlanta, Georgia. These two VIP's (Very Important Pups!), Loki and Natasha, will join the UH Pet Pals team of facility dogs working a 40-hour week alongside their hospital handlers to comfort children and adults undergoing highly stressful medical treatments.

What a beautiful evening for our Pet Pals Healing Paws Yappy Hour walk! Guests enjoyed pizza, refreshments and some furry snuggles as we successfully raised funds for our program needs! ❤️‍🩹

Therapy horse Willie Nelson visited the oncology unit at Rainbow today. The father of one of the young patients had a t-shirt on that said “Have a Willie Nice Day” with a picture of the country singer and namesake. Needless to say, we were all smiles and a nice day it was indeed.

Yappy Hour returns August 11th with a GREAT CAUSE in support of University Hospital's Pet Pals program! Like always, Yappy Hour is free with drinks for purchase from 5-7 PM in City Park East but an optional fundraising walk will also be available. Tips at the bar will also support Pet Pals. A live DJ and a food truck will be on-site during the event.

Pet Pals uses trained volunteers and their adult dogs to make short, in-room therapy visits with patients. Pet therapy has been known to reduce stress, promote healing, lower blood pressure and lift spirits.
