Mariner Class Association

Mariner Class Association The Mariner Class Association is dedicated to promoting the 19-foot Mariner sailboat, first produced by O'Day in 1963 and still in production today.

The Mariner is a 19 foot laminated fiberglass sloop first manufactured by George O'Day in 1963, and currently produced by Stuart Marine. Over 4,000 boats have been constructed. The Mariner Class Association was founded in 1966 to:

* Keep the boat safe.
* Encourage its use as a family boat.
* Maintain the Mariner as an economical one design Class. The Association remains very active and sponsors

an annual National Championship Regatta. The association publishes a newsletter, appropriately named "Notice To Mariners", which is the official publication of the Association. Through the newsletter, our forums and the plethora of information on the website, members can learn from highly experienced Mariner owners about maintaining, tuning, cruising, and racing a Mariner.

Nineteen boats and 62 sailors, crew and members came to Mystic Seaport for the 2026 Mariner National Rendezvous! Sailors from Canada, Florida, Ohio, Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and more attended the event. Activities included a two-way sail from Niantic, CT to Mystic, a dockside pizza party, a tour on the SABINO museum boat, museum boat rentals, sightseeing and dining around Mystic town. Just a reminder to members who have signed up to attend the 2026 Mariner National Rendezvous, .. It's less than a MONTH AWAY!! It's time to make your lists, start to gather your gear together, check out your trailer, tire pressures, wheel bearings, and boat rigging. Especially check you're engine and it's fuel system. Please buy fresh gas for your engine. Stale gas can be bad news! Let's all be sure that our equipment is ready for the event. We have 20 boats this year! Properly prepared boats and crews will insure a good time for everyone! See ya all soon! (MCA)
