Berkeley Shores Civic Association We are a social/civic group in a fabulous waterfront community! Visit our website for membership info. berkeleyshores.org

In 1985 the Campbell and Richmond families conceived the idea of a homeowners group. The purpose was to implement repairs and protect and enrich the environment. Members would be dedicated to the betterment of the neighborhood and concerned with the ecology. A non-political viewpoint would be maintained to adopt whatever was best for the community. Initially 20 members joined the association.

Berkeley Shores Civic Association has been awarded a 2026 Community Cleanup Award by the New Jersey Clean Community Council today at their Fall Litter & Awards Summit luncheon. Every year NJCC chooses civic organizations who have implemented a comprehensive litter abatement program, achieved measurable results, and demonstrate a true commitment to promoting a Litter Free NJ.

Thanks to our member volunteers who make our bi-annual roadway cleanups a success and special thanks to BSCA Board member Bob Roof for organizing and running these events. Also thanks to Michael Borkowski of Berkeley Township Public Works for his partnership in these programs as well.

This is just another example of the good we can accomplish together as a neighborhood if we work together.

Our next roadway cleanup/food and toy drives is November 7th. Please be on the lookout for a communication shorty with an RSVP link. We need all the volunteers we can get.

Dear Berkeley Shores Members,

We’re now just a few weeks away from our Town Hall with State Senator Carmen Amato on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 PM at the Berkeley Township Recreation Center. This is an important opportunity for our community to engage directly with Senator Amato, Mayor Bacchione, and Councilman Byrnes on the issues that matter most to Berkeley Shores.

If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to submit your RSVP as soon as possible. Doing so helps us plan seating, materials, and ensure we’re prepared for a productive and well‑organized evening.

RSVP Link: https://www.berkeleyshores.org/TownhallOct21RSVP

You may also include any questions you’d like Senator Amato to address during the Town Hall.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. We look forward to seeing you on October 21st.

Warm regards,

BSCA Board

If someone in the vicinity of Yardarm Ct lost a dock box, contact Susan Mayer Melecci, apparently it floated to her house.

I hope everyone did okay, the high tides yesterday sure were something!

I just drove around the neighborhood,

I did not see any street flooded (Allen Road does have a large puddle in one spot, as do the entrance of Clew Ct and Leach Ct, but all are more than passable)

Bayview Ave is clear from Allen Road, past the blinking light at Veeder/Amherst all the way to Bowsprit. Flooded beyond both those points.

Veeder is clear from Bayview all the way up. All the side streets off Vedeer seems clear.

All the side streets off Bowsprit seemed clear.

Many of the lagoons are quite high, but I didn’t see any that were overflowing ( I was not able to put eyes on every lagoon, but the ones i saw were okay. )

Here are some pictures…

Dear Berkeley Shores Members,

We are pleased to announce that the Berkeley Shores Civic Association will be hosting a Town Hall meeting with State Senator Carmen Amato on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 PM at the Berkeley Township Recreation Center (630 Atlantic City Blvd).

Before transitioning to State Legislature, Senator Amato served as the Mayor of Berkeley Township from 2012-2023. In that capacity, he was instrumental in transforming the community by focusing on municipal services, local development, and advocating for community and environmental preservation. As Senator, the wellbeing of communities in Berkeley Township and Ocean County continued to be his priorities as a member of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.

This Town Hall will focus on key issues affecting our community, including the Berkeley Township property tax revaluation, lagoon dredging and Amherst Inlet sand management, boating safety and enforcement, and state mandates impacting waterfront neighborhoods. Senator Amato will also address additional topics as time permits.

We strongly encourage all members to attend. If you’re not a member yet, this is a great opportunity for you to show your support for the BSCA. Your participation ensures that our community’s priorities are represented and that we continue productive dialogue with our elected officials. Mayor Bacchione and Councilman Byrnes will also be in attendance.

To help us plan appropriately, please RSVP no later than October 15th. Please fill out our RSVP form by clicking this link:

https://www.berkeleyshores.org/TownhallOct21RSVP

When submitting your RSVP, you can also include a question(s) you would like Senator Amato to address during the Town Hall.

Thank you for your continued engagement and support of our community. We look forward to seeing you on October 21st.

Warm regards,

Ross Pirrotta & Bill Lin, Co-Presidents,
