Urgent Sanctuary Need: Well Tank Replacement

We had an unexpected and urgent expense at the sanctuary.

Our well tank, which provides all of the water for every animal at Runaway Farm, needed to be replaced immediately. The cost was $1,800 a significant expense for our sanctuary.
If you are able to help, no matter the amount, your support would go directly toward the well tank and ensuring the animals continue to have access to the clean, fresh water they need every day.

Thank you for always showing up when the animals need you most. ❤️

A huge thank you to the students and staff from Manchester Township High School for spending part of their day with us at Runaway Farm last week.

They arrived with plenty of treats for the animals, curious minds, and thoughtful questions. It was wonderful to watch the connections form between the students and our residents as they spent time learning about each animal’s story and personality.

One of the things we love most about visits like these is how beneficial they are for everyone involved. The students enjoyed a peaceful, hands on experience with the animals, and our residents enjoyed the extra attention, treats, and gentle interactions. The calm, relaxed atmosphere created a meaningful experience for both animals and people.
We loved having you here and hope you come again. ❤️

Sasso just wants to be near Sophie… and Sophie would really prefer a little personal space. 😂

Their friendship may be complicated, but that’s what makes pigs so amazing. They form deep bonds, have favorite friends, crave companionship, and each have their own personalities and boundaries, just like us.

Sasso follows Sophie everywhere because being near her makes him feel safe and happy. Sophie? She loves him… just maybe from a few feet away.

People are often surprised to learn how emotional and social pigs really are. They seek comfort, connection, friendship, and belonging. Watching their relationships unfold is one of the many reasons we love sharing their stories. 🐷💕

Hear them talking? Pigs have more than 20 different vocalizations they use to communicate with one another, expressing everything from excitement and contentment to curiosity and frustration. If only we could translate exactly what they were saying!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the kindergartners from Clara B. Worth School to Runaway Farm Animal Sanctuary. We were so honored to be included in their community tour for the second year in a row, alongside the firehouse and police station. ❤️

A few weeks ago, these amazing kids held an animal cracker sale to raise money for the animals, and today they arrived with donations they worked so hard to collect. Their kindness, compassion, and excitement to learn about the animals truly meant so much to us.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and families of Clara B. Worth School for thinking of the animals at Runaway Farm. Seeing children grow up with empathy and compassion for animals gives us so much hope for the future. 🐷🐴🐮🐐🐰

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what community can do when people come together for the animals. 💚

We want to say thank you to everyone who helped make our fundraiser such a success.

To our volunteer Karina who showed up early, worked all day, and stayed to help break everything down at the end thank you. Knowing we can always count on you means more than you know.

A very special thank you to the 4-H who donated their time volunteering, and to the volunteers who helped run our tables and help set up and break down.

Thank you to our board members for promoting the event, helping everything run smoothly, and for supporting Runaway Farm since the very beginning.

Thank you to all of our amazing vendors who donated a portion of their sales back to the sanctuary. Your support directly helps us continue caring for the animals.

Thank you to our two performers for helping create such a fun and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone in the community who donated baskets, gifts, and giveaway items. The generosity and kindness we receive never goes unnoticed.

And above all, thank you to every single person who came out, donated, supported, visited the animals, and got a glimpse into what life here at Runaway Farm is all about. Every donation, every conversation, every share, and every bit of support helps us continue this work.

We truly could not do this without this incredible community. Thank you for believing in us and in the animals of Runaway Farm. 🐷🐴🐮🐐🐰

We always look forward to visits from the students at Central Regional High School 🤍

For the past three years, they’ve come every spring and fall to spend time with the animals, and it’s something we all look forward to more than we can say. The animals know when their friends are coming, the excitement is real (especially when they show up with treats 😄).

The students definitely have their favorites, and it’s so special to watch those connections grow with each visit. And just as important, every interaction here is always by choice. No resident is ever forced to engage, which makes those moments even more meaningful when they choose to come over and connect.

We even got a surprise today, Frank was so excited to see everyone. Seeing that side of him was really special 🤍

We always miss them over the winter, and we’re so happy to have them back again.

True sanctuaries and rescues don’t turn their backs on animals. If they don’t have space, they network, they advocate, and they work together because at the end of the day, it’s about the animals.

We were asked to assist with three bunnies that were reportedly abandoned. We recently took in two bunnies that are still in our quarantine room. Although we couldn’t take them in, making sure they are placed safely is what matters most.

Because of an incredible team effort, we are now transporting them to another rescuer that will then bring them to an amazing rabbit rescue that will get them the medical care they need and place them in loving homes where they will finally be safe and cherished.

This is what rescue looks like.
This is what community looks like.
