Fred Aguilar Promise Center is a community center program for Our Promise for West Baytown, Inc (501C3) We offer free activities, learning opportunities and promote individuals being responsible, service oriented, enriched members of our Baytown community or as known in the neighborhood by the name of our community center, "Fred Aguilar Promise Center"

ies with Tues/Thur after school educational activities for elementary grades, arts, music, and exercise activities for youth and adults, community gardens, summer camps, annual community health fair, music & art events, free family movie night/game nights & other community activities. Everything that we provide for families is free for them. We also mentor those we serve and guide them into a path of community leadership and giving back to their community. Our Board of Directors invites you to participate in the challenge of commitment to our youth and community through your generosity, time and outreach. Promise has become a significant provider for youth and their families by offering unique programs to fill in the gaps for the past 22 years. Churches, local businesses and community organizations have partnered to continue Promise’s vision. maintains tax-exempt status and has not operated under another name. Our Community Center is named after our founding member, Fred Aguilar ~ Fred Aguilar Promise Center. Funds we raise allow further program growth and continuation of much needed child, youth and family services in our Baytown Community. Your contribution or assistance in our fundraising efforts would be immensely appreciated and will provide unprecedented opportunity for the continuous growth of Our Promise for West Baytown, Inc. You can donate your time or a financial contribution, which will help in all areas of Our Promise’s service and outreach. (lots of volunteer opportunities here.) Some of those areas are:

* After school learning for elementary aged children Tues & Thur 4-5:30pm

* Seeds of Promise community gardens and gardening classes

* Exercise, tai chi and yoga for all ages

* Annual Health Fair in August (back to school shots, cancer, cholesterol & diabetes screenings, healthy eating seminars, health kits for families, dental screenings & dental health kits, etc.)

* Assistance with referral to other services to meet family needs

* Computer & job skills training (you can volunteer your time to teach, donate old computers, help maintain computers)

* Art, music & hobby activities to promote social interaction and community (volunteer to teach music, theater, a craft-hobby, donate for supplies)

* Summer Camps

These are just the most popular of our services you can participate in or help with. There are many more and more new services to come with the growth of Our Promise. Today's GCCISD Family Wellness Festival was postponed due to today's weather. Everyone stay safe!

Due to the forecast of heavy rain throughout the day tomorrow, the GCCISD Family Wellness Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, will be rescheduled.

While we were looking forward to this exciting community event, the anticipated weather presents safety concerns and could significantly impact participation from our families, vendors, volunteers, and student groups.

We will announce the new date as soon as possible.

If you want to experience what it's like to be a Super Hero, join us at our CAPE Club after school program. CAPE Club is Child and Parent Education activities and is from
August - May each school year.
✨ Volunteers help on a regular basis (weekly or monthly) assisting child & parent (under our guidance) with learning stations (Art, Music, Reading, Math, Science). Volunteers should commit to a minimum of 1 time per month.
