Chartered on June 26, 1859, Sampson has been a beacon of light on the east bank of the San Jacinto River for many years.

As we celebrate Labor Day weekend, Sampson Lodge No. 231 recognizes the hardworking men and women whose skill, dedication, and labor strengthen our communities and our nation.

May we also remember that honest work, faithfully performed, is honorable and worthy of respect.

We wish our brethren, families, friends, and neighbors a safe, restful, and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.

The consolidations of Goose Creek Lodge No. 1192, Cedar Bayou Lodge No. 321, C.A. Fortner Lodge No. 1304, and Baytown Lodge No. 1357 into Sampson Lodge No. 231 are now official.

Bringing five lodges together as one is a tremendous accomplishment. We sincerely thank every Brother whose hard work, dedication, and cooperation made it possible.

It is exciting to see our dining room and Lodge room full once again. While much work remains behind the scenes, many hands make light work.

This is not the end. It is a new beginning for Sampson Lodge No. 231.

What a Great day to honor the Past Masters of Texas Masonic District 30-F !!
Brother Jack Adcox was gracious enough to allow us to hold the event at his house, Jack also provided a Great Fajita meal from ’s Meat market, we are extremely grateful for his hospitality !

I believe we had 40 PMs in attendance with their families which totaled around 100 in attendance!!

There are several of our Brothers who had other obligations and couldn’t make it out and they were all definitely missed!

We are already looking forward to our next family event !!

Sampson Lodge No. 231 is proud to host the District 30-F Past Masters Gathering on Saturday, August 22, 2026, beginning at 12:00 Noon at 2750 Grace Lane in Highlands.

Join us for an afternoon of fellowship featuring great food, cold drinks, fishing, swimming, relaxation, and plenty of air conditioning. We’ll also recognize those who have served as Worshipful Master with a commemorative Past Master’s pin and a limited-edition challenge coin.
