Great news from Baytown Blue Santa! ❤️

Today, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Gemma Power Systems for organizing an incredible Charity Golf Tournament benefiting Baytown Blue Santa.

Because of their generosity, along with everyone who participated, sponsored, donated, and supported the event, Baytown Blue Santa received the largest single donation in the history of our program since its inception. That level of support is truly overwhelming and humbling.

This donation will make a tremendous impact on the children and families we serve, and it will help us continue growing the Baytown Blue Santa program in ways we have only dreamed about. Big things are coming, and this support is going to help change lives in our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Gemma Power Systems and everyone involved for believing in our mission and helping us bring hope, joy, and smiles to so many children and families.

We are beyond grateful.

Pre-Kindergarten students from San Jacinto Elementary School in the Goose Creek Independent School District, were focused brain safety this year. Their enthusiasm and gratefulness are captured in the friendly smiles. The Pilots and children enjoy this fun Brainminders activity annually. As a great send off to summer fun for all while being reminded that each should use helmets to protect their brains when riding bikes and scooters as well as to share with family and friends, three students received helmets provided by the Baytown Pilot Club.

The Pilot Club of Baytown honored seven exceptional scholarship recipients and their guests with a luncheon during its annual scholarship recognition program. Each student delivered a three-minute acceptance speech, outlining their intended college of attendance, career aspirations, and the specific career field they aspire to pursue. The students introduced their families and campus support members as guests. Superintendent Dr. Joe Rodriguez gave an inspiring address that encouraged these scholars to excel in the workplace beyond the current generation. Education Chairperson Susan Moore-Fontenot closed the luncheon by reciting the poem “Equipment” and encouraged the graduates to utilize their unique “equipment” to realize their college aspirations and career objectives.

The Pilot Club of Baytown Education Committee members thoroughly evaluated the 103 student applications from the six high schools within our community, with all students achieving exceptional ranks in their graduating classes. During the reviews, Pilot Club members remarked at the numerous accomplishments achieved by all students. The Club raises funds at its annual fundraiser which is supported by members of the community. Funds raised help students pursuing their educational aspirations.

In its inaugural year, the Pilot Club established the Judy Wheat Memorial Scholarship. Judy Wheat served in many capacities in the club and championed fundraising to ensure scholarships were available to GCCISD graduates. In her memory, one graduating senior from the district who plans to attend Lee College received was awarded as the first recipient.

We are happy to say that rain didn’t dampen the spirits of guests at the Pilot Club of Baytown’s recent Yellow Rose Casino Night at the Hilton Garden Inn.

A grand entrance decorated with balloon art was set up by Michelle Smith from Envisions Party and Event Services and Rentals in Baytown.

We appreciate our sponsors and guests for supporting our annual fundraiser. We would not be able to participate in service projects, award scholarships to seniors and assist our Anchor Club at IMPACT Early College High School without your support and encouragement.

Royal Flush ($2,000) sponsors of the event were Sally Black and Gary Angel and Greg Angel, in memory of their aunt, Beulah “Boo” Goodman.

Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital donated at the Full House level ($1,500).

Cedar Bayou Self Storage (Sherry DuPont and Brenda D***s), Jennifer Marcontell and Patients ER and Hospital were High Rollers with a sponsorship of $1,000 each.

Pilots also appreciate the Ace in the Hole sponsors ($500), which were Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, BDI Resources, Blackhorn Equipment, Ad-Centives, ExxonMobil, Dan and Lynne Foley, Goose Creek CISD, Janet Hall, David and Joyce Kadjar, Lee College and Frank and LaNelle McKay.

Jackpot Jubilee sponsors ($250) were Altzheimer’s Association, Aesthetic Family Dentistry, Carol Badillo, Bayou Belle Lawn Care, Tom and Karen Capetillo, Cather Insurance Agency, Ken and Cindy Day, Kiwanis Club of Baytown, Sid and Delores Ellis, Julie Fallin, Fulleylove Flooring, Deborah Garrett, Helen Gerlich, Pat Gersteman, Joey’s Glass and Glenn Lambrecht, Ruben and Joan Lineras, David Smith and Susan Moore-Fontenot, Barfield and Cindy Nettles, Jake and Carolyn Parrish, Susan Passmore, Susan Pitts, Terry Presley, Shane and Gladys Pryor, Travis and Shelly Wadsworth, Sarah Bob Taylor, Visiting Angels, Dr. Chris and Pam Warford, Tom Solowey and Stellar Bank.
