St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children Where big hearts help little patients. St. Mary’s to receive care, learn to manage their illness or injury, and achieve a better quality of life.

Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is committed to improving the health and quality of life for children, young adults, and families with medical complexity and special healthcare needs. Mary’s Healthcare System is one of only a handful of organizations around the country that is dedicated to providing intensive rehabilitation, specialized care, and education to children with special needs and

life-limiting conditions. Following hospitalizations in acute care facilities for complications from premature birth, illness, and injury, or when special services are needed, children and their families come to St. As the largest provider of long-term care for children with complex medical conditions in New York State and one of the nation’s leading providers of pediatric post-acute care, St. Mary’s provides a continuum of care, treating children throughout the metropolitan area through a network of inpatient, home care and community programs and services, setting a standard of excellence in pediatric healthcare. Mary’s is a not-for-profit healthcare organization.

Celebrating 16 years of participation at Molloy University’s Annual Edith Richner Palliative Care Conference! On June 5th, 2026, St. Mary’s interdisciplinary team members, as well as Doula volunteers, joined other healthcare professionals to learn, connect, and explore the latest approaches to providing compassionate, family centered care.

This year Danielle Toto, LMSW, Social Work Supervisor presented a poster on Expanding Pediatric Palliative Care in the NYS Children’s Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid Waiver program and the services it provides to enhance quality of life and help children remain safely in the community.

Marianne Muzic, LCSW, APHSW-C, Doula and Compassionate Care Program Manager presented on the St. Mary’s Compassionate Care Pathway and the importance of pediatric Doula’s.

We are proud of our team’s commitment to continuous learning and advancing the quality of care we provide to children and families every day.

St. Mary’s is grateful to have been part of this inspiring event alongside so many dedicated palliative care professionals. 💙

Creativity, connection, and healing come together in our Sensory Lab.

Facilitated by Massage Therapist Michael Matos, Music Therapist Francesca Miller, and Art Therapist John Criscuolo, this unique program engages children through hands on sensory experiences that support relaxation, self expression, and development in a fun and meaningful way.

At St. Mary’s, innovative therapies help our patients explore, learn, and thrive one sensory experience at a time. 💙
